Repeated Pharmacy Errors & Unacceptable Treatment!
This is now my third negative experience with H-E-B pharmacies, and I’m honestly shocked at how many serious mistakes I’ve encountered.
First, my son was given the wrong medication at the Summerwood location. Because of that, I switched to the Madera Run location when it opened. Not long after, I purchased a medication in bulk, and they gave me the order missing an entire bottle. I had to drive all the way back to pick it up.
Last week, yet another issue happened. We got home and discovered that my daughter’s medication bottle was completely empty—an empty bottle sold to us. How does something like that even happen? It’s clear no one checked it before handing it to us.
What made the situation worse was the employee’s attitude when I called. Instead of helping, she immediately acted as if I was lying or trying to steal medication. Her response was dismissive and rude: “No, I personally checked that bottle before I gave it to you and everything was there.” That was absolutely not true. I told her they needed to check the cameras and inventory. She then abruptly put me on hold, and the manager finally came on the line.
When the manager called me back, she admitted it was their fault—which proves I was telling the truth from the start. I was offered a gift card for the inconvenience, so once again I made the drive back to the store. When I arrived, I expressed how inappropriate the initial treatment was. After everything I went through, the “gift card” balance was $5. Honestly, that felt insulting.
I spend a lot of money at H-E-B, and I expect competence and basic respect. Instead, I was judged, dismissed, and inconvenienced multiple times because of errors that should never happen in a pharmacy.
The only reason I’ve stayed is convenience, but if one more issue occurs, I’ll be moving both my prescriptions and my grocery shopping elsewhere.
