Dr Jonathan Sellin did my surgery if L-5 S-1 Fusion.
He did the surgery, making two "small" incisions on either side of my spine. He told me he cut very little to get to my spine. He removed what was left of my disc and put the fusion spacer into my spine. When I woke from surgery, I did normal surgery pain.
I was sent home with Tylenol #3 and it was plenty for pain.
My recovery has gone great!
Highly recommend Dr Sellin!

I really like the provider here, she is very into getting to the point and I didn't have to answer a whole lot of questions or explain my situation like I was the only one in the room that knew what was going on inside my body to a doctor that slept through med school. She saw my images and showed me exactly what the problem is and said we have to operate. She came recommended by my uncle and she was exactly what I needed.

I have had three surgeries through this group. I will NEVER go or refer anyone to them again. Dr. Sellin is an excellent surgeon with great personality and bedside manner, so to speak. However, there are other employees who probably need to be let go.
I had complete fusion of my cervical column and wound-up having NO pain relief...not even a TYLENOL. Nurses continuously dropped the ball, I informed the NP and she did nothing. One of the night nurses got one vial of morphine from an ER doctor. With that, I was able to cut the pain down some afterward with the Extra Strength Tylenol I had my wife bring from home! Oh, the other nurses all told me they couldn't get a Tylenol. My surgeon informed me that it was included in my chart.
This practice does not, apparently, employ Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants. If they did, then maybe I could have had some relief. The Methodist nurses advised they were not allowed to call the surgeons, just the NP or PA. Therein lies the problem with BOTH outfits, this one, and Methodist Hospital.
And on the lines of communication, the only way you can contact your surgeon is by calling the office. Great for evening and weekends I imagine. They don't even provide an email address on the doctors business cards.
*I do not plan to finish this at the moment, but will complete at the conclusion of my follow-up*
I would advise everyone to avoid this practice like the plague!! There is apparently a disconnect in their communications.
