Wish there was a button for ZERO stars…
I traveled from Dallas specifically to take this class with an instructor I’ve admired for two years. I arrived at the studio only 7 minutes late due to a delayed Uber. At first, I was told it was fine and that I could still join. Then another staff member approached and asked if I was a new rider. I explained that I’ve done SoulCycle for years and that I’m an Equinox member since 2019 — just not at this particular studio.
Instead of listening, she repeatedly interrupted me and began offering alternate dates, even after I explained that I was only in town for the day and that this class was the highlight of my trip.
Finally, she cut me off and told me I wasn’t allowed to attend for “safety reasons” because my profile shows me as a new rider — even though I clearly am not.
As a postpartum working mom, this was supposed to be a moment for myself, and the lack of flexibility and empathy was incredibly disappointing.
I understand safety protocols, but refusing to hear me out and denying me entry, despite my experience and history with Equinox/SoulCycle, makes no sense. A simple liability waiver could have easily solved this — but apparently that was too much to ask.
Instead, I wasted PTO, a flight to Houston, a hotel stay, Uber costs, and precious time away from my infant, only to be turned away at the door. The refund offered is minuscule compared to what I spent traveling just to take this specific class.

Unfortunately, the customer service at the Houston SoulCycle location continues to be disappointing. After driving 30 minutes to take a class, I was told I couldn’t enter because I “wasn’t in the system,” despite having taken classes at the Dallas studio and showing up 10 minutes early. When I explained this and noted that I was aware of the 10-minute grace period, the key holder, **Nicole**, responded with “Good for you,” and then pointed out that I had “only taken two classes.” I chose to walk away, but she followed me from behind the counter to reiterate the policy—one she said had “recently changed.” I asked when it changed since I’d been to SoulCycle fairly recently, but the interaction just felt unnecessarily hostile.
I do want to acknowledge that the other two team members on shift were wonderful. **Renee** was incredibly kind, and the other young lady apologized repeatedly for how things were handled. Their professionalism stood in stark contrast to the experience with the key holder.
Despite the rocky start, the class itself was phenomenal. The Millennial-themed ride was full of energy, the music was perfection, and the instructor was absolutely on fire. 🔥👏🏾
However, this is now the **second negative experience** I’ve had at this location. Enough is enough—customer service needs serious improvement at this Houston studio.

I was enthusiastic & pumped coming into my second class but that quickly died off when instructor, Andres, decided to rudely call me out in front of the class because I did biceps curls with my left arm instead of my right arm as he instructed. That’s NOT the way to teach newcomers and much LESS, motivate them to continue taking classes here with that attitude. I’ll be requesting my refund for the class pack I purchased.
