  I’m very frustrated with my experience here. I came in back in October 2025 for a persistent facial rash and was treated with topical steroids by Denise Hixon, PA. While I was warned about possible skin thinning, I was not told that repeated or intermittent steroid use on the face can actually worsen or prolong perioral dermatitis, the condition I was diagnosed with. That risk should have been clearly explained or steroids never should have been prescribed. My rash never resolved, spread to new areas, has become more itchy and painful, and has now been ongoing for many months. I called to report that the topical treatment was not working and that I could not continue oral medications after learning I was pregnant. I was offered no new plan or alternatives and was told to continue the same topicals. I followed that guidance and my condition continued to worsen. The staff were courteous, but I did not receive the level of condition-specific counseling or treatment adjustment that would be expected for a chronic facial condition. I wish non-steroid options and escalation strategies had been discussed much earlier. This has significantly affected my comfort, confidence, and ability to work with clients in person. I wake up in the middle of the night itching and scratching and in pain. I have stopped the steroid since learning it’s contraindicated. But the timeframe for healing is weeks to months. Very upsetting.

  Staff were very friendly and informative. No long wait time and my PA Hixon and Dr Davis are both amazing! Love how thorough they are and they take the time to listen to your concerns. My skin looks amazing after going here! Absolutely recommend this place!

  We followed Dr. Davis from her previous location. She is THE best. Her bedside manner is calm, informative, and knowledgeable. If you’re looking for dermatology care, do not look anymore and go see Dr. Flowers. 🥳

  I was formerly Dr. Jimmy Schmidt’s patient for several years. When he retired, I stayed with this DermSurgery office staff at Willowbrook Methodist. I appreciate the doctor’s kind, professional care, and all of the staff are very friendly and caring. They take the time to listen and this is a busy office. The front desk staff is so great! They are kind and courteous and take time to help you. I miss Dr. Schmidt but Dr. Sonya Davis and all the nurses and the support staff are a professional and caring group of people!
