The kind thing to do would be to at least let the person know you're going to put them on hold. I was finally able to speak with someone, and it was the manager. After he kindly accepted my rude attitude, he advised me my Rx would be received by Thursday, and explained the situation and was definitely a lot nicer than I was when I started the conversation. He did well to deescalate my rage and answered my question sufficiently. This person needs to train others in customer service. Thank you, sir.
