Born in 2007, Black Optical established itself as a leading sunglass and prescription eyeglass curator in a rapidly growing industry. From the beginning, Black Optical set out to achieve three things: to curate the best in independent eyewear from around the globe, to welcome and care for every client like a friend, and to create environments that inspire. In 2016, Black Optical was nominated as one of the best independent eyewear retailers internationally, in 2017 & 2019 D Magazine voted Black Optical as Best Eyewear in DFW, and in 2022 Black Optical won the top award for Eyewear Retailer of the Year by the Vision Council.
