The program provides children from birth to four years of age with the essential foundation to become successful learners. For over 50 years, the program has helped improve children’s education, health, and well-being, preparing them for kindergarten and beyond.
Head Start and Early Head Start are administered by the Office of Head Start (OHS) within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
