I ordered a special lens material. The glasses were made with the wrong material, but the people in Target Optical would not believe me when I told them it was not correct. (I ordered high-index lenses and received polycarbonate.) They kept saying "it says it's high index on the order form" and did not actually know how to tell the difference. They insisted I'd received what I had paid for. I wasted my insurance for the year at this place as well as nearly $300 out of pocket paying for glasses I cannot wear because I am sensitive to the lens material. I later went to an actual lens specialist who looked at the glasses and immediately said, "this is not high-index material." There are a few ways you can tell, including thickness and sound of lens when you strike them with an hard object. The people who work at Target Optical should know how to do this. I'm really disappointed to have wasted hundreds of dollars like this. I also felt like I was being brushed off because the staff found me annoying for complaining that I hadn't received what I paid for. I also had trouble with the optometrist; I brought in two pairs of glasses and told her the new prescription was causing an issue. I asked her repeatedly if the old prescription included an astigmatism correction or not, because I suspected that was the problem. She lied to me! She took the old pair and sort of shoved them toward her lens reader, but clearly never actually read them, and just stated they had the correction. (They didn't, which the specialist confirmed, and it was causing issues.) Also, from the moment I came into her office and described the issue I was having, she kept insisting that I needed bifocals. She cut me off and kept repeating that I needed bifocals. Repeating "you need bifocals that is the problem you need bifocals." I finally interrupted her and asked her to PLEASE test me before she continued to say that... because ... Guess what??? I don't need bifocals. She got very quiet after that and when I asked her if I needed them, she just said "no" in a very small voice. I won't be back to either place.
