- DBDebra BushMar 23, 20261.0My husband is currently recovering from knee surgery, and his doctor has prescribed pain medication on a week-to-week basis due to it being a controlled substance. When the prescription for his second week was submitted, we were told by the HEB pharmacy that they would only fill this medication once every 90 days, and that this was an HEB-wide policy. This directly contradicts the doctor’s treatment plan and has created unnecessary stress during an already difficult recovery. We have always valued the convenience and service HEB provides, but this experience has been frustrating and concerning. Policies like this, especially when applied without consideration of legitimate post-surgical care, can negatively impact patients who are simply following their doctor’s instructions.
