Hours of operation are pretty bad, and the automatic robot that answers the phone is absolutely terrible at its job.

Hands down, the worst Golds Gym, period. The equipment is 20+ years old, but very poorly maintained. Seats are loose, screws poking through padding, padding is torn and worn to the plywood, cables frayed and broken, and overall just terrible quality. There's, at any given time, a minimum of two machines broken that take 2 months or more to get repaired. The staff is constantly changing, as I see at least 3 or 4 new faces every couple of weeks at the front desk. The bathrooms are always dirty, the locker rooms are small and cramped. The only thing that keeps me working out there, is that it's literally the ONLY gym for miles.

This gym left a bad taste in my mouth. I've been coming to this gym for about a year now, and I wore some barefoot hiking/training sandals to improve foot/ankle strength and a lady threatened to ban me and I got spoken to like a child for it, which I didn't get a good explanation as to why that is, she just said it's pretty obvious. Other than that bad experience it's a pretty good gym. Very good selection, pretty busy most of the time and they fix their equipment pretty quickly. The other employees are pretty chill and nice.

Joined Gold’s for the convenience (your membership in TX is good for any corporate location in TX, and I was even able to use it while traveling without the travel pass.) I’m there x3/week.
This location is what you would expect from a well-used gym with a respectful clientele. Sure the machines don’t look brand spanking new but I’ve also never encountered broken weight training equipment. I have run into broken or just super creaky cardio machines, esp the ellipticals, but not many. Otherwise, machines are plentiful enough that I’ve rarely had to wait. There’s also always a staff member around if I need help or a quick orientation, and they have always - always - been both professional and kind.
Only complaint is the shower in the women’s locker room, it’s really not great and it never feels like it’s been cleaned properly.
But of the Gold’s in the area that I’ve visited, this one is *big*, and stays busy. Everyone from the Silver Sneakers crowd to small packs of teenagers. It’s clearly a well-used community gym, which is nice to see. Just clean the showers, please 😬
