I work at a medical office and someone from the Westlake location brought us coupons for calcium scans in 2024. Me and my sister had been planning to do this and because of the coupon reminder and her rare availability between jobs, decided to get it done. I called three times about a week apart and left voicemails with both our names and my number. No one called me back. My sister got a new job and no longer was available so we had to postpone the plan. 12 months later she died from atherosclerosis without any warning or symptoms. It could have been caught early enough to save her if they answered their phone or called me back.

JFC. Worst customer service ever, and that's a lot coming from someone who routinely deals with the VA. Longhorn cannot figure out logistics to save their life ... A provider has submitted an order for MRI for me. Apparently there was some issues with the doctor name after Longhorn insurance contacted the VA. So I had to call my provider and ask them to resubmit with a different name. Then Longhorn calls me again saying the name is still wrong. I called the provider to check. Was told the name is correct. Been at it all day, playing the middle man, calling back and forth a dozen times to convey information between them and provider.
I don't know what disability is preventing the scheduling team to call the provider directly and figure out what issues they're having. Never going back here again.

No one here seems to know what they’re doing. Insurance says they need info from longhorn, longhorn says they need info from insurance and I just get to struggle with back pain while they pass the buck off to each other. If you love a good run around without getting the care you need this is your spot.

The patient services manager Michelle called me and apologized for the way the initial scheduling phone call went. She was able to get me back on the schedule for Monday (original time) and said we would figure out the insurance later (especially since my OOP was already satisfied.) The staff and doctors I all met that day was fantastic and would have been worthy of all five stars. I just cant give five because of the initial problem I had with them getting the insurance looped in for payment. Original review will stay at the bottom but was truly happy with the care and services I received.
Original Review:
Received this text message from them today for my appointment Monday next week. I thought this was going to be a problem with my insurance, it was not. They transmitted the notes and request for authorization yesterday (2 business days prior to procedure). Insurance can take up to 15 days to approve authorization and clinical notes.). Now my new appointment is scheduled out for another 4 weeks after already waiting four weeks to get this scan. How’s this acceptable? You deal with insurances all day and your lack of planning is now delaying my care. Very dissatisfied.

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience with the brunette front desk woman. She told me - with a lot of attitude - that my appointment wasn't until NEXT Thursday, but I showed her the text confirmation from Longhorn Imagine with today's date. She told me, "we couldn't even see you today anyway because we don't have the auth and we are booked." She disappeared, so I sat down and she came back and said nothing for a while. Then she looked over at me and asked me if I wrote my own order... I told her Dr. Shine wrote it and offered to call his office if she needed clarify, to which she replied, "no, we do this all the time. You know, we are an imaging center." Then proceeded to say I needed to come back next week anyway.
I guess she doesn't know how to obtain an auth in real-time, accommodate a patient when the error was her office's, AND she has NO BUSINESS being in a customer-facing role.. so maybe she needs to find another field altogether where she finds more success.
