I came in on a Saturday to fill a prescription, and even though my insurance is valid, the pharmacy couldn’t get it to go through. They claimed my policy showed an incorrect date of birth or didn’t list me as the primary, both of which are untrue. There was no line and no sign that they were busy, yet instead of taking a few minutes to resolve it, they refused to call the provider help line that my insurance later confirmed is open on weekends. I was simply told my only option was to pay out of pocket. When I followed up with my insurance, they confirmed the issue could have been quickly fixed if the pharmacy had just called the number on file. Really disappointing experience, while the staff wasn't rude they didn't put forth any effort to help or explore any options to actually take care of me as a patient. I usually love doing any business with HEB but this was an extremely sub-par experience.

I came in on a Saturday to fill a prescription, and even though my insurance is valid, the pharmacy couldn’t get it to go through. They claimed my policy showed an incorrect date of birth or didn’t list me as the primary, both of which are untrue (checked w/ insurance). Instead of trying to resolve the issue, they refused to call the pharmacy help line that’s specifically for provider, which my insurance later confirmed IS OPEN on weekends. I was told my only option was to pay out of pocket. When I followed up with my insurance, they confirmed the problem could have been easily fixed if the pharmacy had simply called the number on file. Really disappointing experience, the staff made no effort to help or explore any options to take care of me as a patient.

I have trouble understanding the triage logic that places routine flu shots in advance of filling meds to treat atrial fibrillation.
