  I was ripped off by Athens Advanced Dental. I'm a 100% disabled veteran, therefore my family Delta Dental insurance is a government employee DOD plan. Athens Advanced Dental charged me over $2,000 for my portion of there bill. I paid in full without question. When I received the EOB (explanation of benefits) from Delta Dental I was shocked to see that my portion was less than $700. When I presented Athens Advanced Dental with the fact that I was overcharged by more than $1,500, they rewrote the bill, adding miscellaneous billing codes, and states that they only owe me $200. I think that constitutes fraud from the federal government. I have reported them to Delta Dental the theft of federal funds and will soon be contacting the DA and local law enforcement to address accountability since Athens Advanced Dental still hasn't reimbursed me anything. I have all of the evidence to prove everything I said. Legacy Dental Group out of Canton Texas is an awesome reputable dental office if you need somewhere else to go. Legacy Dental removed three wisdom teeth for less than Athens Advanced charge for one wisdom tooth and were much more professional and kind throughout the process

  I recently switched to Athens Advanced Dental, and the experience has been completely different from my previous dentist. From my first visit, I felt heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. Dr. Risinger took the time to listen to my concerns and clearly explained my treatment options, including the differences between a root canal and an implant, so I could make an informed decision. With the costs associated with both, I had many questions for Joann— bless her! She patiently went over insurance coverage, my estimated portion, and payment options, including CareCredit if needed after my HSA payment. I felt confident moving fwd with treatment. Karen was knowledgeable and offered a recommendation based on my complaint of sensitive teeth. The entire office was professional, welcoming, and focused on patient care rather than rushing the appointment. Highly recommend.

  I met with dentist Risinger for consultation regarding lower front teeth. The plan agreed upon was to extract 4 teeth that date. I have Delta Dental insurance. The cost that day from me was $800. I paid $400 that day on credit card. The next day, I was to return to his office and pay the remaining $400, which I did. THE NEXT DAY, I received a call from his office wanting to know why I hadn't returned and paid the $400 as agreed. I told the lady I had returned and paid the $400, and I had the receipt from her in my hand. I was beginning to feel a bit of a money squeeze...The dentist made a mold of my gum preparing for a bridge. When the bridge was prepared, returned, and fitted my final payment was supposed to be an additional $1400. Upon those steps being done, I was billed $1550. I inquired why the amount due had risen $150, and she stated Risinger had instructed her to add the $150. She stated I could ask him. Frankly, I had no desire to talk with him. He could have told me about this additional charge ahead of time. I paid and left. Upon completion of the bridge, I returned for fittings. Risinger, as usual, entered the room with no words of acknowledging my presence. He opened my mouth, placed the bridge in my mouth, and very forcefully pushed my jaws together. It was very painful. A word of warning from him would have been helpful. On each appointment with Risinger it was my feeling that he was quite angry about something. I don't recall a single time when he made some simple comment to put a patient at ease. He was very forcefull, even rough. I will not return to his office. My only regret in leaving his office is that his hygienist is outstanding.

  Dr. Jordan Risinger and the entire team at Athens Advanced Dental are outstanding. From routine cleanings to more involved dental procedures—and even unexpected emergencies—the level of care is consistently excellent. The office is clean, welcoming, and well-organized, and the staff always makes you feel comfortable and well-informed. Dr. Risinger is professional, skilled, and genuinely cares about his patients, taking the time to explain options and ensure the best possible outcome. I highly recommend Athens Advanced Dental to anyone looking for high-quality, compassionate dental care.

  Just days before Christmas, Dr. Risinger squeezed me in and even stayed late to be sure I was comfortable through the holidays. I’m super grateful for the quick, caring service! Highly recommend.
