MINUS STARS....Very bad customer service. I requested a patient roll-out/refund months ago and have still not received my almost $800 refund. I have called multiple times, but the billing phone line has now been closed, so there is no one available to speak with. I have also sent several emails and have not received a proper response. At this point, it feels like I have simply lost my money to this office. My advice to other patients is to only pay the minimum required. My mistake was making a large payment toward the full cost of the treatment in advance. I am still waiting for my refund and hope the office resolves this issue promptly.

Both the dentistry and the orthodontics departments are completely amazing. My kids absolutely love going there. This time we did the orthodontics for the first time and my 8-year-old was so happy and smiling the whole time. The people that work there are very sweet and very kind. They're amazing with kids.We will definitely be going there for a very long time!

Yes had the most wonderful experience for my 22 month old. Alayna was amazing and the dentist was so sweet and accommodating to our toddler. The whole team was amazing and very professional. They made us feel so comfortable and help my child throughout the whole experience

Even though I filled out all paperwork on line I had to do it again in person. Asked for a school note and did not get one. Had to go back up there. This facility is not good with kids. I explained in person and online that my child had autism and severe social anxiety. Yet they forced us to separate and kept telling him he was fine. Causing an episode and me having to go back to calm him. Ridiculous how they are pushing for ortho work and braces at younger ages like they are clearly out to milk the insurance when 8 and 9 year olds aren't ready for those things yet. This place gives me anxiety and I would not recommend them to anyone

Frequently Asked Questions About Cumberland Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics of Smyrna

Why a pediatric dentist?

Has your child ever begged you not to leave the dentist? Impossible you say? Not at our office. It could be our gentle touch and special way with kids. Our pediatric specialists and staff love children and are specially trained to put them at ease. We teach your children the proper way to take care of their teeth and just as important, they learn that going to the dentist can be fun.

Why are baby teeth so important?

Primary teeth are important because they help with proper chewing and eating, help in speech development, and add to an attractive appearance. A child who can chew easily, speak clearly, and smile confidently is a happier child. Healthy primary teeth allow normal development of the jaw bones and muscles, save space for the permanent teeth, and guide them into place. If a baby tooth is lost too soon, permanent teeth may come in crooked. Decayed baby teeth can cause pain, abscesses, infections, and can spread to the permanent teeth. Also, your child’s general health can be affected if diseased baby teeth aren’t treated. Remember, some primary molars are not replaced until age 10-14, so they must last for years.
