- BDBrianna Dillon2 days ago5.0We’ve been using National Seating and Mobility since 2020 for our son’s equipment needs. Any time we’ve needed equipment repair or troubleshooting help we’ve been taken care of in a timely manner and even same day at times. We’ve worked with Assistive Technology Specialist, Brian C. for most of our son’s fittings, equipment ordering, and deliveries over the years. Brian has always been super knowledgeable about a variety of equipment and options/features/accessories, which has added reassurance knowing he is able to offer the best custom solutions for our son’s needs. Recently our son’s health declined changing his physical and medical needs drastically. Knowing his life expectancy is short and insurance processing can take up to 4 months for certain custom equipment, Brian went above and beyond working with Vanderbilt Peds Rehab to find a quick solution. Because of Brian’s compassion and care, our son now has a reliable, safe wheelchair that suits his needs and affords him access to the community. This has given us great comfort knowing our son won’t be confined to our home. Their kindness and efforts have given our son the ability to get out of the house safely and supported during what may be his last days of life. We are so very grateful for Brian making this happen.

I would rate them as a company only a 2 to 3 star Honestly. Wesley Wilson:: gets & 7 stars!!!!!! He is an employee that NSM is extremely lucky to have working for them. His dedication and compassion for what he does shows in his work. i feel he gives knowledge and understanding to those of us who are tryin to find equipment that works for our individual needs and are frustrated to get those needs met. I feel he goes above and beyond his Tech Repairs duties to listen and talk with customers. Very few individuals show enjoyment for the work they doin lif. I have to say, in this type of industry i feel that wheelchair users are just another Number and annoyance to many repair techs or evaluators. Its been an amazing experience to work with Wesley Wilson and be made to feel that someone is willing to talk "WITH You" and not "AT You" when working or discussing wheelchairs & actually enjoys it as well... He has a passion for work that easily infects others with inspiration for making life better no matter what you do. I feel he should be the ideal professional role model for customer interaction and support on multiple levels and train others how to bring back passion & compassion in this industry. NSM- give this guy a raise and move him up the ladder to showcase his talents. He is the reason I haven't looked into another Mobility company altogether at this point. NSM you need to make sure other employees answer calls and emails in a timely manner, or hire more individuals, because I been waiting 3mths a quote that is holding up me to get new Wheelchair. Maybe you need to have employees learn AI/Excel to create how to follow up within 2-3wks of past inquiries so customers aren't "forgotten".

How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?

Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
