Visiting Dr Lee for the first time I felt very comfortable. I knew I was in good hands not matter what happens. Speaking to my Phyical Therapist he told you sound like your in good hands and this Dr truly knows what he is doing

I was referred to Dr. Ryan from Ascensions Hospital in Nashville after I was diagnosed with superior mesentery artery syndrome and Nutcracker Syndrome by a CT scan. My aorto-mesenteric angle is at 22 degrees and the distance is 3mm. When I called to schedule with the doctor and I was on hold for about 10 minutes so the nurse could make sure that he does in fact treat my disorders. She came back and ASSURED that he does. I went to the appointment and brought my mother and it was a total nightmare. He told me that my pain was not real and that I need to get psychiatric help and repeated over and over again “DO NOT WALK OUT OF HERE TELLING PEOPLE I SAID YOURE CRAZY”. He also contradicted himself and told us that there is no surgery that will ever take away my pain. This made me burst into tears. It’s one thing to tell me I’m not in pain (I know that I am) but it’s another to put false fear into my head and tell me I’ll have to live with my pain forever. I am a 20 year old college student and I brought my mom to my appointment because I felt it was appropriate for her to hear what it takes to treat my new disorder (that I also do not know that much about). I advocated for myself the entire time and my mom didn’t say anything until the doctor made me cry. My mom proceeds to tell the doctor that this is the most unprofessional doctors visit we’ve encountered and to please leave the room so I can put my pants back on. Dr Ryan proceeds to repeat “Can I defend myself” twice. When my mom says she doesn’t care to hear his defense he blocks the door by saying “so you’re not going to let me defend myself? You can leave.” My mom finally says “we are trying to leave but you won’t get out the room so my daughter can change.” As we were walking out he stands in the middle of the hall almost blocking us. Even the nurse that was in the room looked mortified by what happened. Fast forward to today, I GET A CALL FROM ADULT PROTECTIVE SERVICES asking if I’m home and that they have received an anonymous report that I am being abused by my mother and forced to get treated for a disorder that does not exist. It also said that I’ve been bound to my bed for 4-6 months. Obviously none of this is even REMOTELY true. I do not even live with my mom, I go to school full time and my mom drove three hours across the state to come to my appointment. Even DHS couldn’t believe it when I explained the situation to them. This whole situation has been a nightmare. To my Tennessee people, DO NOT GO TO PATRICK C RYAN WITH NASHVILLE VEIN AND VASCULAR INSTITUTE. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE FROM A DOCTOR. THIS DOCTOR NOT ONLY RETALIATES BUT HE DOES IN THE MOST UNETHICAL AND VINDICTIVE WAYS AND DOES NOT DESERVE TO HAVE A MEDICAL LICENSE. From previous reviews, I can see that he tries to invalidate many people by making them feel like their disorders are from poor life style choices or that they don’t actually have their disorders. He has even gone to great lengths of REPLYING TO HIS REVIEWS in the most demeaning ways or banning people (like those people would even come back) from his office to save his reputation. I could give zero stars if I could.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ryan's since he first opened Nashville Vascular and Vein Institute. Since then, he has done procedures that have literally kept me alive - fistulas, grafts, a venous ablation, and ultrasound monitoring of my vascular system. Dr. Ryan always treats me and my wife well. He answers questions clearly, frankly and respectfully, and is well-respected by my other physicians - PCP, Hematologist, etc. His top-notch staff follows his patient care lead, as articulated in his Vision Statement and code of conduct. His new PA, Jennifer Landis, seems to be a valuable addition to his staff, and ultrasound techs Derek and Allison keep an eye on my veinous system. In summary, Dr. Ryan and his team provide excellent, compassionate, and informative care with the focus on the patient.

My father who is 79 years old. Had surgery last week from Dr. Ryan. The first time in many years my dad after surgery had no complications and felt great and walked out of surgery and has done great! I truly believe this Doc is very confident in his work and it shows in his face, his body and in his patients after surgery! If any negative comments about this doctor is ever said! You can throw them out the door! I am a nurse not his nurse either. his ethics are absolutely wonderful. He puts the needs of patients first. Not the family! Only what is the less invasive and what is right for the patient first! I even have referred a family member to him. That means a great deal. I only choose the best of the best for my family!
