I went in with severe dry and light sensitivity and feel like they used that fear to take advantage of me and further their own causes rather than helping. A couple thousand dollars out of pocket (because they only give you their own meds that are not covered by insurance), a few very painful treatments (that did not offer relief and were also not covered by insurance), two additional diagnosis (that were disputed by my other doctors and were a convenient combination of diagnosis enabling me to be the “perfect candidate” in a Toyos study.) All that with no answers and no relief. My questions and concerns were dismissed - repeatedly. I am not sure how they became so highly recommend. Definitely do not recommend.

Don't go here, like just do not. See pictures. What I experienced here was a complete breakdown of informed consent and expectation-setting, which is a big deal in medical/aesthetic procedures I think. Dr. Toyos lied to me from day one, ensuring this was an outpatient procedure. Look at the pictures. I underwent a SmartGraft eyebrow procedure with Dr. Melissa Toyos in October 2023, and my experience was deeply disappointing—both in terms of the outcome and the way my concerns were handled afterward. During my consultation, I was explicitly told this was a simple outpatient procedure with minimal downtime and that I could return to work immediately with visible results right away. That was not my experience at all. I had significant bruising, swelling, and visible wounds that made it impossible to return to work for over a week. None of this was clearly disclosed in advance. When I raised concerns during recovery and later about uneven density and patchy regrowth, my concerns were dismissed through email. Instead of acknowledging the mismatch between what was promised and what occurred, I was told the outcome was due to my lack of aftercare (see the day of photo) and was encouraged to purchase additional products (!). What is most concerning is the shift in messaging after the procedure—from “immediate results” to a “two-year timeline”—which was not clearly communicated beforehand. Patients deserve accurate expectations so they can make informed decisions. I have documented my experience thoroughly, including photos and written correspondence. At this point, the result remains visibly uneven and does not reflect what was represented during consultation. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this procedure to ask very detailed questions about downtime, healing, expected results, and timelines—and to get those answers in writing, and to seek that procedure elsewhere. Pictures are day of, day one, 1/5 weeks later and 1 month later.

I paid for my glasses and they told me it will be ready in 2 weeks. A month has already passed, and I still don't have my glasses. They don't even call to apologize or to give me an update on the status of the glasses.

They can’t work and they don’t any effort in the front desk. Customer service is terrible.

Frequently Asked Questions About Toyos Clinic

What is the process on the day of LASIK surgery?

On the day of LASIK surgery, you will typically arrive at the clinic or surgical center. After checking in, you may undergo final eye measurements and receive any necessary instructions from your surgeon. The actual procedure usually takes around 15 minutes for both eyes. You will be awake during the surgery, but numbing eye drops are used to ensure you are comfortable. After the surgery, you will rest for a short period before being allowed to go home. It's important to have someone available to drive you back. Be sure to follow your surgeon's post-operative care instructions carefully for optimal recovery.

Is LASIK right for me?

LASIK may be right for you if you are looking to improve your vision and reduce or eliminate the need for glasses or contacts. It is important to consult with an eye care professional to determine if you are a suitable candidate for the procedure.
