  I wanted to share our experience with Target Optical regarding my husbands first contact lens appointment. We paid the exam fee and came in expecting a standard first-time contact lens fitting. From our understanding and my own experience, patients are typically given the opportunity during that same visit to learn how to insert and remove contacts before you leave and leave with trial lenses. I do totally understand why they have to do those things. That did not happen. Instead, we were told we would need to schedule a separate appointment on a different day just to be taught how to put them in and take them out. We live about an hour away and made it clear that travel and gas are a concern for us, but we were still required to return on another day. At the second appointment, my husband was given only a 30-minute or so window to try inserting the lenses. As someone brand new to contacts, he struggled—which is completely normal—but instead of being given more time or guidance, we were told we would need to schedule yet another appointment and come back again!!!! The office is suppose to call and get another appointment scheduled for my husband to go back for another fitting appointment so hopefully they will give him the time and support to actually go home with contacts this time! This has already turned into multiple long trips, added fuel costs, and a frustrating experience for something that should have been handled more efficiently and with more patience for a first-time patient. It felt dismissive rather and rushed than helpful instruction. On a positive note The receptionist was a sweet heart and Dr seemed very competent during the eye exam . Overall, we are very disappointed with how this process was handled. It felt rushed, inconvenient, and lacking in customer care. We just hope to be able to get in maybe this week if they call to give him an appointment time before we leave for vacation and once we get his contacts it will probably be our last time we spend our money with target optical .

  I use target every year for eye exam and multiple pairs of glasses. This year they said I need to fill out my paperwork before I get there and if I don't they will cancel my appointment. What a load of crap . Is it that hard to process their 5 questions when I'm there. I will never use Target Optical again. Tell me at noon on Saturday I have to do it by 5pm or they will cancel my appointment for the following Monday. Apparently they don't know people work 6 days a week. Some people just can't hang on their phone whenever they want. True customer service right there.
