- RGRodger L GuestOct 24, 20255.0I was unsure how the hearing aids would work but I’m pleasantly surprised. The staff at the Miracle Ear in Crossville TN have been great. The audiologist provide me with the information I needed to get hearing aids. With the follow up visits the aids were fine tuned after providing information on how the aids have been working. I can now hear people, the tv and surrounding noise of nature. I also like the ability to use with my phone for phone calls and listening to music.

But it was downhill from there…) Anyway, I took my 89-year-old mom there the other day for a hearing test. The man we dealt with was Blake Cordell, and it was like talking to an AI robot, minus the empathy. Sidenote: an older gentleman came in, having missed his appointment and the electronic messages regarding the cancellation thereof, and while he seemed genuinely confused, Cordell was VERY short with him - super snippy tone. I felt bad for the old guy. (This is called "foreshadowing".) So, part of Mom's test included Cordell covering his face and saying a series of words, asking her to repeat them, to see if she could hear them correctly. She paused on a couple of the words briefly, but then said them correctly. I noticed he marked those words as wrong. Kind of "slanted the results", if you will. As soon as my mom finished her test and suggested that she might not be ready to sign up right then for the recommended $8000 hearing aids, it was about 0.2 seconds, and he was like "OK, sounds like you're not gonna be getting hearing aids. Have a nice day." I was waiting for him to grab us by our collars and throw us both out the door. He was SUPREMELY rude. We immediately went somewhere else, with excellent results so far. Only go here if you like to be talked AT, not WITH. The service itself may be fine (except for the apparent test-rigging), but that dude has the bedside manner of a coroner, and I don't trust him to do the job with any real concern for our needs.
