I think there was some misunderstanding about the purpose of my visit. First, I was greeted as a return patient when, in fact, I had never been there before. I scheduled an exam of my right eye for a second opinion following cataract surgery at another facility. What I got was an exam and scheduling for cataract surgery for my left eye. Right eye was never examined. Total miscommunication.

My experience with Mountain Empire Eye was excellent. Their extensive staff was courteous. Kind, and dedicated to accomplishing their duties in a swift and professional manner. I left with a better function to my left eye after treatment and an appointment for treatment on the right eye. As a retired military man and now retired minister I was highly impressed and will be back.

I have been going to Mountain Empire Eye Physicians for many years and highly recommend this practice for routine and specialized eye care. I had an appointment yesterday and from check-in to to check-out everyone was professional, friendly and provided detailed care. Dr. Cook and the techs were thorough and made sure to explain each test, the results and future actions. They also paid attention to my concerns and answered every question I had.

It took an hr and 20 minutes for a regular eye exam. An older woman waited an hr to be seen by Dr Hicks for dry eyes. I could here him and he spent 3 min with her. They put me in a room waiting for dr Hicks for 15 min after waiting over an hr while dr Hicks and staff are laughing and talking about how much they like and dislike chillies food outside the door. I was about to walk out when he entered and took a fast 3 min with me after they dilated my eyes.
This was the second experience with him and I will never return especially since it was a basic annual visit. I never write reviews but he books people every 10 min so there is a lot of overlap. There were several people waiting to see him and we took bets on who he'd see next.

The woman at the front who takes the payments could be more polite. Otherwise, everyone. Was very nice and respectful. However, you need to work more on your scheduling of patients. There should be no reason to wait for three hours to see three different people, the first two of which take less than a minute and then to see Dr. Hicks. There has to be a better way, either by taking a patient back and having the patient do the eye test, then checking the eye pressure, etc. with someone else either back to back or in a close proximity of time, not waiting an hour between each of these Exams. And then to wait another hour for Dr. Hicks. The first thing he says to each patient, and I noticed that this because you can hear through the wall from one room to another is that he apologize for apologizes for keeping them waiting. If he knows that he’s keeping them waiting and that’s the first thing he says to each patient when he walks in, he is well aware that there is a problem with the scheduling. Whether it’s rearranging the process with the patient when they come in to have the patch removed so that the first two are much closer together and scheduling them for a time that Dr. Hicks will be available to see them Shortly thereafter by changing the appointment time or some other resolution, it is very much needed.
