  My husband traveled from Nevada to South Dakota and needed dermatology care while he was there. Prior to this visit, he had already been seen twice by his dermatologist at home and had a confirmed case of scabies. He went to Monument Health Dermatology seeking continued care. At the appointment, he had open sores from head to toe all over his body. Despite this, no tests, skin scrapings, or examinations were performed. Instead, he was told by Dr. Ekpo to go see a psychiatrist and was prescribed steroids, which compromise the immune system and are not appropriate for scabies treatment. He was completely dismissed and provided no medical help or relief. We filed a complaint with the clinic, which was denied. We were then required to pay $280 for this visit. The issue was escalated to the grievance committee and was also denied. After returning home, he was seen again by his dermatologist, where scabies was reconfirmed and he was treated properly. This visit in South Dakota delayed appropriate care and caused unnecessary expense. This experience was unacceptable, and we should be fully refunded. I am sharing this to help others avoid the same situation.

  If you are into holistic health do not go to doctor Mary. Even though her profile clearly states that she prefers to take a more holistic approach, she doesn’t. She is just like any other doctor. She is friendly, and helped me understand all the medical terms but the whole thing felt very rush. If you don’t take the holistic approach then I recommend her, but if you do please save your time and money and find someone else.

  Staff and doctors at monument dermatology are the best. Very efficient in what they do and extremely friendly.
