Big BIG shout-out to Hannah Winningham, CPNP!! My child came down with croup (which can be really scary), and she was amazing. She made sure to test for everything else just in case, handled paperwork right there on the spot, and honestly just put me at ease the whole time. Plus her sense of humor made a stressful situation so much better. I’m so grateful for her care!
Sadly, I wished I never changed location because now I am going to change providers. That’s all I’m going to say. Me and my daughters do not feel welcomed.
There is one sweet young lady I met.

Both times we've been here, the atmosphere was amazing. The staff were very nice and welcoming. I enjoy going there, they treat our son with the utmost care. I would recommend this pediatric clinic to any family in South Carolina.
I have been taking my 4YR old daughter here since she was baby. All the RNs, doctors and even receptionist are always very welcoming. I love it here!

The nursing staff is always pretty great, but I have had MANY issues with the doctors. When my baby was born, we went in for her routine vaccinations. She developed a fever and wouldn’t eat for about 24 hours. I called the after-hours number and was told that it was a little alarming but probably fine — “just keep an eye out for seizures.” Being a mom, that stuck with me (as you can imagine).
My plan after that was to space out her vaccinations and not get them if she had any type of ongoing illness, but instead reschedule. I explained to the doctors that I am by no means anti-vax — I just want them to work with me — and I was told that this was “fine.”
Since then, I have been met with lectures and was even told that what happened to my newborn wasn’t possible. I immediately pushed back and told the doctor that it was ABSOLUTELY possible. I witnessed it myself, and the after-hours helpline didn’t seem to think it was impossible. She belittled me for having a concern, but I was not backing down.
We later came in to get another round of shots. When the next appointment came up, I had to reschedule because everyone in our house had a bug. I brought my daughter in for treatment because that particular illness gave her an ear infection and a fever. A different doctor came in and began lecturing me, telling me that it’s okay for kids to get vaccines when they’re sick. Again — I was spoken to like a child.
When I firmly told her no, she seemed taken aback that I had refused. I asked her if she had even noticed that we were scheduled to get the vaccines four days from that visit, and I was met with a sheepish, “Uh… no, I didn’t. You’re free to go.” There was no apology or anything.
These are just two of the multiple incidents I’ve encountered, but there have been others — including being handed a pamphlet on vaccines that looked like it was made for an eight-year-old.
The moral of the story: do not question these folks or expect them to trust you to know your own child and their needs. It is their way or the highway.
We will be looking for another pediatrician after today’s incident, and I urge you to do the same if you have similar feelings or are in the process of finding one.
