I use this pharmacy for my dogs epilepsy meds because they have the best prices and it is right down the road from me. She is on 3 different meds. On multiple occasions one or more of them have been out of stock. The pharmacy techs have made no attempt find alternative means for me to get my dogs meds, like seeing if they were in stock at another pharmacy. I just receive an automated message stating that I will be notified when it is ready. When I call to ask them to look, they act like it is the most arduous task they could do. I hate to do it, but I am going to have to switch pharmacies due to lack of reliability.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with the pharmacy manager at this Harris Teeter location. Due to my work schedule, I was attempting to coordinate medication pickup through a family member. Despite being enrolled in text notifications, I received no updates regarding my prescription status and was not informed that there were issues reaching my provider. Both I and my doctor’s office attempted to call multiple times over two days before anyone answered the phone. When I finally spoke with the pharmacy manager to ask for a timeframe and clarification, I was told, “I have sick people here so you have to wait,” in a dismissive and unprofessional manner. When I requested to speak with a supervisor, I was informed she was the highest authority available and that was “as good as it was going to get.” As a patient—and as a licensed behavioral health clinician—I found this interaction deeply concerning. Invisible medical and mental health conditions are still valid, and patients deserve respectful communication regardless of workload or stress. A patient should never have to repeatedly call to confirm whether a medication is ready or be spoken to in a demeaning way when seeking basic information. Due to the lack of communication, follow-up, and professionalism, I will no longer be using Harris Teeter Pharmacy or shopping at this location. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and addressed to prevent similar experiences for other patients.

I called first to ask for an ETA on my prescription. The woman on the phone already had an attitude and told me it would be an hour before hanging up on me. Which is fine. I literally said “no rush, but I was wondering if you had an eta for this.” Then I come in an hour later to get my prescriptions. None of them are ready. I’m barely being addressed or talked to. I stand there for another 30 minutes waiting while they get my things together and another ten after that while they just had my bag sitting on the counter waiting to be scanned and paid for. I understand it’s a busy time for them, and I also understand people can have bad days, but they were very unprofessional. The woman who got my things ready left it on the counter expecting the other guy to check me out while he was taking care of other people in line. And then she finally decided to ring us up herself. This absolutely is not it and I highly recommend a refresher on customer service.
