I got my exam on February 24th 2026. I spent $204 for an eye exam (I needed contacts. At the end of the visit, I was given the incorrect strength lenses because the doctor stated they didn’t have any of my strength lenses on hand. Doctor said she would order several different options for me to trial-as I have very dry eyes. Ten days later and I still hadn’t received any kind of follow up about them getting the lenses in. Myself and my gf spent two days calling on and off before we finally spoke to a real person. Eventually she just went to the store and they gave her two sets of lenses total. The lenses, both types, were awful. The one brand is supposedly the only one on the market that is “approved” for overnight use. Incredible irony-when I woke up in a great deal of pain yesterday and realized the lens had ripped in my eye. Now we’re back to calling LensCrafters day and night trying to get a human on the phone in an attempt to get a decent contact lens for my eyes-once I’m able to get the shards of contact out the right side anyway. Be advised !

Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients).
