I have known Dr. Nichols for several years. When I began having trouble eating due to pain I contacted his office. After examining me he showed me what the problem was and recommended a corrective action. I agreed and had the required surgery. At my 2 week follow up appointment Dr. Nichols told me my mouth was healed and I am now pain free. I highly recommend Dr. Nichols for any Dental surgery.

Frequently Asked Questions About Nickles Dental Oral Surgery and Family Dentistry
What are treatment estimates?
After the doctor provides a diagnosis, you will receive financial estimates before any treatment begins. Our treatment coordinator is available to address any questions regarding fees, dental procedures, and appointments.
How do I know if it's a dental emergency?
Consider these key questions: Is your life at risk? If so, call 911 or visit the nearest ER. Is your immediate oral health threatened, such as a dislodged tooth? If yes, it's a dental emergency. Can you wait for a regular appointment without disrupting your daily life? If not, contact us during business hours (Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-3:00pm) for an urgent appointment. For after-hours emergencies, email appointment@nicklesdental.com.
What should I do if I knocked out my tooth?
For a dislodged tooth, gently rinse it under lukewarm water, holding it by the crown to preserve attached gum tissue. Transport the tooth in a sealed container filled with milk or salt water. Do not use plain water. Bring the container with you to your appointment.
What if I broke my tooth?
Gather all visible pieces of the broken tooth. Place them in a sealed container and bring them with you to your dental appointment.
What should I do for pain or swelling?
To alleviate discomfort, take an over-the-counter pain reliever before your visit. For effective pain management, consider taking two 200mg ibuprofen tablets and two 500mg tylenol tablets simultaneously. This combination provides analgesic effects comparable to morphine. Limit usage to four doses within a 24-hour period, taken every six hours.
What should I do if antibiotics are upsetting my stomach?
Stomach upset is a common side effect of antibiotics. To mitigate this, take antibiotics with food. If discomfort persists, consider using a probiotic supplement available at your local pharmacy.
My denture is rubbing and it hurts, what should I do?
If your dentures are causing sore spots, discontinue wearing them until you can be seen by our dental team for an adjustment.
I just had a bone graft done and I am seeing little particles coming from the area what should I do?
It's normal to see small particles after a bone graft procedure, as extra material is used to ensure complete socket filling. Avoid touching the sutures with fingers, tongue, or objects. Refrain from using a water flosser until Dr. Nickles gives approval. If sutures remain intact, this isn't an emergency, but please inform our office.
I had an implant placed or a tooth extracted, how do I take care of the area?
Follow Dr. Nickles' prescribed medication regimen as indicated on the bottle. Maintain cleanliness of the surgical site by using the prescribed mouth rinse twice daily, gently rinsing with warm salt water after meals, and carefully brushing the area with a soft toothbrush.
How do I care for my dentures?
Keep dentures in place for the initial 24 hours post-surgery. After this period, remove dentures between meals for cleaning and rinse your mouth. Each night, soak dentures in a cleaning solution and rinse your mouth before bed. In the morning, rinse dentures and brush them gently before reinserting. For any questions, please contact our office at 864-244-3211.
