I scheduled an appointment for my yearly eye exam and waited over an 1 1/2 hours just to be seen. After my appointment I was given a prescription for glasses and not contacts as I requested. They did provide a pair of multi focal contacts but I could not see up close so I contacted the doctor the next day and was told to come get another contact to resolve the problem with not being able to see close up. The new contact for my left eye did help but it still wasn’t what I needed. I immediately started calling and leaving messages with no return call from them. After 17 days I finally got my prescription and still am unable to order my contact la and have since realized the prescription is missing details that are required to order my contacts. I tried calling the doctor several more times with no response and still almost a month later I have not received the correct prescription and still have no contacts. They filed the claim and my insurance has already paid for my visit. I’ve contacted Lens Crafters directly and they ask that I allow the store 5 business days to resolve the issue. Now after the 5 business days I’ve learned that the case was closed by the doctor and there is nothing I can do but go to the store directly and try to resolve for myself. I advise to go somewhere else. These people do not care about you and are not willing to help when there is a problem.

I was scheduled for a follow up appointment for 2/26/2026. I was also happy to pick up my glasses that I wasn't notified was ready for pick up as well. My appointment time was set for 2:30pm. when I got there I checked in and waited for my appointment to start. At 2:45pm the receptionist notified me that the doctor who usually conducts the testing I was scheduled for was not there to perform it. After waiting for 15 mins or my appointment could have been canceled or rescheduled for a later date. They asked me if I could come back the following day and I answered No. I explained to them that I schedule my appointments on the same days so I don't have to take multiple days off of work to attend them. So I was very disappointed in that miscommunication. On the bright side the man who assisted with me my glasses was very helpful and pleasant. At least I was able to pick up my new frames.
Frequently Asked Questions About Gary Eye Associates
Why should I get an eye exam?
An annual eye exam involves more than just updating your glasses or contact prescription. A comprehensive eye exam can also detect eye health issues as well as general health problems. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure can be detected in early stages through an eye exam, and this can result in early treatment. Schedule your annual eye exam today.
What is involved in an eye exam?
An eye exam involves a series of simple but comprehensive tests that allow your optometrist to assess your vision and your eye health. Your optometrist will discuss the results of your eye exam with you and determine the right prescription to help you to see your best.
Is a contact lens exam different than an eye exam?
A normal, comprehensive eye exam will allow your optometrist to determine if your eyes are healthy enough to wear contact lenses. During your contact lens fitting, detailed measurements of your eyes will be taken to determine the right contact lenses for you. There is an additional fee for a contact lens fitting and evaluation for all contact lens patients (both new and established patients). Schedule your eye exam today to have all of your questions about contact lenses answered.
