Prepaid for a battery a month ago. Still haven't received it. Ex wife can't leave the house or do anything without it. Keep getting the runaround on delivery. Left messages, no return calls.
Completely disgraceful treatment of the disabled.

I recently relocated from Charleston, South Carolina to Greer, South Carolina. I am confined to a power wheelchair and while I was in Charleston, I had an absolutely phenomenal technician, Mitch. For the six years that I looked in Charleston Mitch was my service technician and I never had any problems getting a hold of him whenever necessary and having my chair repaired/readjust it when necessary. I am now living in Greer, South Carolina, and I have yet to get a hold of National seating and mobility for this area. I have left messages and I have contacted their customer care line only to get transferred back to the Greenville office where you just get to leave your name and phone number short message. It would be really nice if somebody would get back to you, but that doesn’t seem to be something they are concerned about.
It is quite frustrating not being able to speak to a person just to get a service technician assigned so that you have someone to call when necessary. Right now I am in need of a service technician and needless to say I am not happy with the lack of response From the Greenville office.
I will never be able to say enough about Mitch and I miss him terribly. There needs to be a Mitch in all of National seating and mobility’s offices. I hope when the Greenville office finally gets back to me that they will have somebody there that is as committed to the clients as Mitch was in Charleston.

Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
