I am truly blessed to be a part of the alumni at Charleston Recovery Center. It was my second time in treatment, terrified, lonely, living a life that was destroying me and all of my relationships. I was given an ultimatum. Go back to treatment for at least 90 days or continue to loose everything in my life. I grew up with an amazing family, unconditional love, support, and amazing childhood. I swore there was no way I could go back to treatment and there was absolutely no way I could go for 90 days! The family at Charleston Recovery Center is something I cannot even put into words. I was able to open up, be honest, listen to others stories . . . And one day, after living the program, trusting and working the program and trusting (again) in my higher powers plan for me, I was able to help newcomers, work with them on their sobriety, working the program, giving back what I was so blessed to receive. The staff is amazing! Lots of tough love, lots of tears, lots of hugs, many conversations with so many in recovery ranging in age from 20 - 70. I am and will forever be grateful to my family for giving me that ultimatum, to Charleston Recovery Center, and to all of those that shared their stories, worked the program along side of me and helped me finally have some belief in myself. After leaving treatment, COVID hit. AA meetings, NA meetings, etc, etc, were closed. This is devastating to anyone in recovery. The staff at Charleston Recovery Center started a group chat on Facebook, offered meetings online and, of course, continued to provide amazing support for anyone and everyone. I was blessed to have Jett and Candace as sponsors. And I’ve been blessed to continue to be in contact with so many that I went through with in the program. There is no bond like the bond we share. There is no greater gift than sobriety, working the program, and having so many people that I can call or text at anytime and they are there. Thank you Jett, Candace, Jessica, Liz, Farrah, Thomas, Ryan, Jen OG . . . I know I’ve left out names but thank you Charleston Recovery Center! I am eternally grateful and I love you all so big! ❤️
Charleston Recovery Center changed my life in a way I didn’t even know was possible. I came in broken, scared, and honestly unsure if I’d ever feel normal again. This place didn’t just help me get sober — it gave me myself back.
The staff here truly care. Not the fake “clock in and clock out” kind of care… I mean the kind where they learn your story, sit with you on your worst days, and remind you that you’re worth fighting for even when you can’t see it. The people I met in this program became like family. There’s something about being surrounded by others walking through the same fire that makes you feel understood in a way the outside world can’t.
I laughed, cried, healed, and grew more here in 90 days than I have in years. This place taught me how to live again — how to have hope, how to trust, and how to wake up feeling proud of myself.
If you’re struggling and you’re scared to take that first step… do it. This place is the real deal. I’m leaving with clarity, confidence, and a second chance at life. I’ll forever be grateful.
