The best place ever! Encouraging yet challenging instructors and an amazing community. I joined 2+ years ago and it was the best decision I could’ve made!

Very nice experience. This is a high end spin/indoor cycling workout; it costs the part but you get a really nice experience too. As someone who has taken up cycling to replace walking as a greater excercise it's difficult for me to want to do Cyclebar in any significant amounts. The outdoors and all its treasures beckons. There's nothing like seeing animals as they don't recognize your bike sound and don't run unlike walking through the forest. There's nothing like the performance and handling of a bicycle, feeling the power transfer and rotating your bike around curves. Then again on a bike you don't push yourself as much because you always need a reserve. You don't want to overdo a hill because some climbs are over a mile long. Your ride could be quite long and no matter what shape you're in, how much you excercise and what kind of triatholon Greek statue God you've become, when you're out there in the elements regardless of your sport you always need to leave a little bit on performance on the table to have enough endurance left to get home. No sense in cramping yourself out on the water or in the forest, that's dangerous. Add in having to moderate speed for less than ideal conditions, sand, curvey roads, bumps or dangerous downhills you get the point. At Cyclebar, the only thing to make you cry Uncle is your own endurance so it's something you can push much harder instead. With Cycle bar it's nice because the instructor encourages you. I had Jenna and she was really nice. They tell you how fast to pedal and how much resistance to use but you can do whatever you want so in a way this is a very engaging way to skirt the anaerobic threshold and expand on your limits. The music is nice, intense enough to pump you up but generally not obnoxious or obscene, no grating hard core rap or satanic death-metal. The instructors are really nice, encouraging, polite and professional giving you tips. The clientele is also clean cut and mostly in good shape. It's obvious different people are at different levels of their training but the attitude is all the same, everyone wants to work on taking good care of themselves to feel and live better. I don't think I will go very often to Cyclebar. I'd rather be outdoors doing the real thing and have many hobbies that cater to that. If you're already involved in stuff like that the draw to a gym like this is far less but not zero. Cycle bar is branded to people who have a hard time going out there and need the encouragement. On the other hand I could definitely see using it every once in a while and the money indoor exercise equipment (YUK) costs pays for a lot of visits here. For sure if you need some help getting started to a better you, this is an outstanding place to start or go. If you're already doing good things for your body, it's something different to get into as an adjunct to your training. Not as good as the real thing, but it has its perks. I highly recommend trying out their free package to start.
