How are care professionals hired?
Home Instead is constantly searching for talented and compassionate care professionals to enhance the lives of seniors and their families. We search for people who are engaging, caring, and empathetic individuals for this role.
After a candidate completes the employment application, there is a multi-step interview process plus a drug screening and background check prior to joining the Home Instead team.
Upon hire, a team member will receive on-the-job training starting with orientation to learn all about how to care for an aging adult and their family. All of our staff are trained in dementia care.
What training do care professionals receive?
As part of the hiring process, all team members at Home Instead undergo Orientation to learn about caring for seniors and their families.
In addition to orientation, all staff receive training in, and must demonstrate mastery of, providing care for our aging loved ones. This includes the aging process, safety of caregivers and clients, and how to build a relationship with clients.
Staff receive training for all aspects of their expected role including how to be the eyes and ears for the family of our clients. Specialized care training, such as Alzheimer's care, is taught to ensure a full understanding of the necessary aspects of providing exceptional care for these individuals.
We also offer the opportunity to our caregivers to expand their skills and become CNAs through our licensed CNA school.
What are the benefits of home care?
Home care services let people flourish in the everyday life they already know and love – while getting a little help to stay independent and mobile. With in-home care provided by Home Instead, care is personalized to the needs of the individual.
Home is familiar. Home is comfortable and provides a sense of security. As a senior ages, being in a place that is familiar to continue daily routines is very beneficial, especially for progressive memory conditions like Dementia.
Another benefit of home care is the dedicated care professional providing one-on-one care in a well-known environment. Caregivers promote independence and companionship while reducing the risk of falls and providing family with peace of mind knowing their loved one is safe.

Home Instead provides personalized care, support and education to help enhance the lives of aging adults and their families. Home Instead strives to partner with each client and his or her family members to help meet that individual’s needs.
What sets us apart is our foundational principles including the principle of relationship before task and determination to provide superior quality service.
