  I purchased a membership through Aetna Active & Fit and paid $168 for two months — and never got to attend a single class because the studio would not get my account activated. I submitted everything they asked for at my intro class on February 21st. What followed was two months of me chasing them down — calls on February 22nd, 27th, March 2nd, 6th, and 11th, emails on March 13th, 20th, 24th, and 30th. The responses I got were vague "we're working on it" replies, and my last two follow-ups were ignored entirely. Not really sure what else I could have done. The lack of urgency, accountability, and basic follow-through here is incredible for a business charging this kind of money.

  I genuinely enjoyed the Pure Barre classes themselves. The workouts were effective and challenging, and the instructors were great. However, good luck cancelling. After undergoing surgery, I attempted to cancel in early January, providing a doctor’s note. Despite that, I was still charged on January 22nd. I called, and they initially promised to refund that month. Still, I decided I wanted to fully cancel, so I followed up in email. Since then, I’ve sent multiple emails and called numerous times, with no response at all. I was billed again on February 22nd, even after attempting to cancel almost two months earlier and sending 6 emails. The classes are $179 a month, which makes it even more frustrating. The lack of response is disappointing. Please be aware that while the classes are great, canceling can be very difficult as it does not seem like anyone checks the emails or is around to answer the phone.

  I have been at this location for nearly five months. It was my first experience with Barre. I had done all the research, and I was ready—at least, I thought I was. I'm not new to working out, but let me tell you, this workout is unlike any other. My body burned in places I didn't even know could burn. I love every minute of it. The owner, Liz, is fantastic and very helpful. I highly recommend this place if you're looking to be challenged and improve how you look and feel. Give them a try—you won't regret it. Oh, and did I mention the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming?

  This studio has been a life saver since I moved here over a year ago. The owner and all instructors make you feel at home and comfortable. Everyone is so friendly knowledgeable and make sure you feel the burn! Can't say enough wonderful things !!

  I love Pure Barre Chestnut Hill. Everyone is so welcoming. Very challenging classes with amazing instructors.
