We as a community are so fortunate to have The Troy Community Hospital and The Towanda Memorial Hospital.
My husband, Rod spent 5 days in Towanda and 22 days in Troy getting back on his feet after having the flu.
I want to give a shout out and a big thank you to the staff at both hospitals. I won't name names, you all know who you are. Care Partners, Nurses, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, PA's, NP's, lab staff, Unit Clerks, housekeeping and the cafeteria staff. Basically if you were any way involved in my husband's care I thank you!
The staff and volunteers really are what make these facilities what they are. ❤️
If you know any of these fine people that work or volunteer for Troy Community Hospital or Towanda Memorial please let them know how much they are appreciated!
Currently admitted to the troy guthrie. I have had multiple nurses roll their eyes and give me nasty attitudes. Don't recommend at all. Chose a different hospital if you can.
My brother was sent here, 3 hours from home, from Cortland Hospital. Cortland had left him suffering from pneumonia, and dehydrated, on a stretcher in the hall. He received no fluids, no antibiotics, and was ignored from 11am till 11 pm. My sister insisted that he have his bedding changed. He was wheeled into an empty room, changed and wheeled out to the hall. He was then transferred to Guthrie Troy. We did not experience the ER there as my brother was immediately given a room and it was quickly determined that there was nothing more to be done. The nurses, aides, and the entire staff was helpful and kind. My brother had a large private room where my family was able to wait for my brother's passing privately and comfortably. It was very difficult being so far from home at this time but we were so thankful that we were at Guthrie Troy instead of Cortland or a Syracuse hospital.
