This is a review of the orthodontist and our first check in since my daughter started with braces a few weeks ago. The scheduler apparently online apparently didn’t schedule enough time for her brackets to be fixed that came undone and because it was right up against their lunch, I ended up getting flack for it during the parent consultation after the appointment but my daughter sat and listened to her complain and grumble during the entire appointment with her mouth propped open, unable to speak. She was blamed for brackets popping off for eating chips, which she hardly ever did and misunderstood the instructions on what chips she could or couldn’t eat since they were enumerated. I was threatened that this is her first warning and if it happens two more times, the braces come off. I was scolded like a child. She then informed me that bite wings were added since her overbite was so bad and that could have contributed to the brackets popping off so if they come off, to let them know because that is on them. This is my second child with braces and a new dentist—my first child had one bracket pop off in two years and that was from chewing ice. So if my daughter had a terrible overbite, why weren’t they added? So instead she was mean and complained to my 10 year old during her entire appointment unable to reply. At one point, the dentist made a motion to my daughter about opening her mouth and she was confused so my daughter removed the mouth opener and she was chided for not understanding and mocked for doing it. I’ve never been treated by any doctor or dentist this way and while I get she may have been hungry because she didn’t eat, take it up with the scheduling department and not us. But when a dentist chooses to work with children, this is not the care I expect and she shouldn’t be working with children.

It’s always a pleasure when either one of the dental sisters are working! They are extremely pleasant, patient, and wonderful with the children. Dr. Lisa was not only kind and thorough with us, but also very pleasant with her colleagues, which made the entire visit feel calm and welcoming. She took the time to clearly explain all recommendations and answered every question I had without rushing. As parents of a child with language barriers, it meant so much that our daughter’s communication challenges did not hinder Dr. Lisa from effectively communicating and completing a thorough exam. That level of patience and professionalism truly stands out. Highly recommend!

They mixed up my kids appointment. So I took off from work, pulled my kid out of school, just for them to say, you don't have an appointment. And this all could of been figured out if 1 of the 5 people behind the desk would of answered the phone.

The actual dentist was great. She was helpful and kind. The dental hygienist, while she was polite while in the room with my two younger children, she went out of the room and began speaking poorly of me to another hygienist in front of my two older children because I asked about the dyes used in the products used to clean teeth. I asked her why it’s okay to ban dyes in candy but use it in dental products. She then went and said, within ear shot of my children, that it’s parents like me that are ruining their kids’ lives etc. Now, I understand that our hygienist is older. She made mention that she was born in the 70s and that she has seen a lot but, that does not give her license to behave in this way.

This dentist office was very difficult and dissatisfying to work with for 5 years. Many times I found myself overwhelmed and frustrated because of many lost signed consents, they did not update my child’s names or guardians after I provided the court order, and they often are understaffed (and cancel my child’s appointments day of or day before).
