Although the girls who do the cleanings are very nice and have done an amazing job with my family, my experience with the receptionist and the doctor has been very different. We called to schedule an appointment for my son, and my wife clearly stated over the phone that he had a swollen lymph node and needed to be seen for that concern. I took him to the initial appointment, only to return and tell her they said there was nothing wrong. She then called to reschedule him to get an X-ray, and when she tried to do so with the receptionist, she was instead put on the phone with the doctor. The doctor told her again that there was nothing wrong with him and that she needed to schedule another appointment.. which is what she had already been trying to do with the receptionist. After going back and forth with the doctor for about five minutes, him telling her the swollen lymph node was never brought up to him.. and her explaining how important it was to her that our son get an X-ray and that the swollen lymph node had been discussed, he eventually agreed that he should come back in to get one. We later received a call stating that the swollen lymph node was, in fact, documented in the chart and had been mentioned in her original phone call, and asking us to set up another appointment for him to come back in for X-rays. We ended up going to his orthodontic appointment, where he had X-rays taken, and we were told there was an issue with a molar tooth. Fast forward a few weeks to my children’s annual appointments, which we had scheduled for all three of our kids on the same day. We had been receiving appointment notifications up until a week prior. Suddenly, we noticed we were no longer receiving any for our daughter. My wife called the office and was told her appointment had been canceled because she had texted “cancel” to a message regarding her own appointment days prior. This was clearly a system error. When she asked if we could still bring our daughter in, the receptionist told her we couldn’t, that she would have to be rescheduled, despite the fact that we had waited over six months for the appointment. When she expressed her frustration, she was told, “I don’t know what to tell you.” She asked to speak with a manager, who eventually called her back and said they were able to put our daughter back on the schedule. However, not once throughout any of these situations did we receive an apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience or miscommunication. Because of these repeated issues.. poor communication, lack of empathy, and no accountability. We have decided to take our family of five elsewhere. And their response further proves my point.

Long but important review: If you are going there to have your teeth cleaned they are fine. They are very busy and cannot get you in every 6 months, it's more like every 8 months. Then comes my tooth ache. Couldn't tell which back tooth it was. The 1st dentist told me it was the 2nd from the back and there was a hairline crack that he filed down and filed down the points to take stress off the tooth. Told me it would take 2 weeks for pain to subside. Waited 2 weeks. Pain intolerable. Went back, saw a different dentist only to find out it was the back tooth and it needed a root canal. So the dentist said he could do it right away. I should have known that didn't sound good, but I was thinking, finally, pain relief. So he performed the root canal and put in a temp filing, stating if no problems in a month, he will put a permanent filling in. I was feeling a bit of relief but within 3 days I was already getting pain. I called my old dentist (I stopped going to her because she was further away) for advice and found they do not do root canal in their office and she referred me to an endontist. I had my consult. When he took the xray and showed it to me, he showed me exactly where the root was NOT cleaned out. Now, the dentist had taken an xray after doing the root canal, so there is no way he could not have known he did not get it all. WHAT WAS HE THINKING! So because I am going to a specialist to fix his botch job, I am waiting a month and a half to get this fixed. These dentists do not know what they are doing and do not know their limitations. I will not be going back.

I was a patient here for about 22 years. I only switched practices because I moved several hours away. Staff here is caring and supportive and their Saturday hours are a plus. If you can request Dr. Staivecki, do it! He's the best.
