As a customer, I want to emphasize that many patients depend on timely access to replacement parts for urgent medical needs with any part needed. Delays can directly affect their health and safety. I strongly encourage the manufacturer to expedite shipments in these cases, and if a part is temporarily out of stock, to use UPS as a backup shipping option. This would ensure continuity of care and demonstrate commitment to patient well-being.
Unfortunately, their customer support has been consistently unhelpful and difficult to work with, which only adds to the frustration. Managers should step in to help.

I find this company very responsive to my communications. I'd like to commend two of the employees that I have interacted with. The person who usually answers the phone is named Erin. She always gets back to me and she is extremely courteous. The person who comes to service the scooter in my home is named Jim Sines. He is an outstanding professional. Very courteous and kind and extremely efficient. Based on my interaction, I would highly recommend this company.

This company says
“Our goal is to help our clients move through life.“
My experience with this company had been nothing but untruthful and inaccurate promises from the beginning, even from the manager.
They have the worst communication skills at all levels.
We have been waiting for nearly 3 months for the correct configuration for a Wheel chair which was ordered correctly yet had a mistake in the office.
The promise was made to us by Carson that it would able to be correct in a week or so and no additional charge to us since the office was responsible for the mistake.
The saddest part is the people who suffer from this incompetence and mistakes are the people who need the devices… those client they are trying to help move through life!
Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
