Apparently here they teach providers to yell at patients instead of using compassion. If you’re scared of healthcare they will 100% make it worse by never reassuring the patient. A few bad apples ruin everything. We were at an event where this ambulance was on scene to transport if needed. Someone I was with went to the medical tent, didn’t get better and got checked out in the ambulance by this company’s paramedics. This person is VEDY scared of ambulances and hospitals and was freaking out, almost having a panic attack. The “medic” decided the best way to handle this was by yelling at her to “just relax and get over yourself” and touching her to preform tests without telling her (oxygen probe, BP cuff) and yelling at her to calm down when she flinched. The patient asked him why he was yelling at her fully crying and his response was “I’m not yelling. Yet” treat your providers how to handle mental health and a little bit of compassion. If I’m ever unlucky enough to need an ambulance here I would rather walk.

My dad was visiting for our family reunion near Jim Thorpe, PA. Unfortunately, on the very first evening of vacation, he fell and fractured his hip! He couldn't walk, couldn't do anything by himself... He was stuck in the ER for almost 2 weeks- shout out to St. Luke's Carbon Campus which was also amazing. He needed to be taken to an inpatient rehab facility back near my home in VA, but finding full ambulance medical transport for such a long trip is no easy feat. I called several medical transport companies based in PA and they either wanted $6000+ (ouch) or said they had stopped providing such transports, even though their websites still said they did.
One of our ER nurses then recommended Lehighton Ambulance, and I'm so glad she did! They had a reasonable quote, and I appreciated that everyone I talked to from Lehighton including the ambulance driver and onboard EMT/nurse were all women! :)
Writing this, the events were almost a year ago but Lehighton AGAIN went above and beyond helping us with a confusing billing/insurance issue that surfaced more recently. Most communicative and empathetic billing department I've ever talked to by far! Someone give Kristi a raise, lol!!

I recently needed to utilize these services in both a personal and professional capacity. They are simply wonderful, and I would donate to them if I were able. Anyone who can afford to donate anything when they receive a donation request, should! I have utilized other ambulance services both personally and professionally, and the men and women with the Lehighton Ambulance Association are, by far!, the best.
