Mark evaluated me for a Mobility Chair and delivered the most amazing chair today. It is incredible responsive, and fits me like a glove. It turns on a dime and fits through my narrow doorways. I give him 5 stars for his great service and attention to detail. And this chair glides. It is awesome!!!

Absolutely the worst customer service I’ve received in a VERY LONG TIME! They tell me I am scheduled for an “evaluation.” You’d think that they would inform yo, after saying, “we can get you in” on a specific day, that they would tell you “it’s an in home” appointment. When I advise them that I am currently homeless and not living at a physical address they would be able to accommodate, instead I get, “just go to the address and wait for the technician”. WHAT HOME??? I just told you I’m HOMELESS!!! I know this isn’t typical but how about some accommodation?

Would prefer to give them zero stars. From the time the chair was ordered/delivered was fine. A few months later my son’s physical and mental status took a huge hit after a surgery in October. This chair was no longer a good fit. Insurance had approved all modifications; no issues there. Took 3 months for NSM to provide hydraulic leg lifts. They’re too short and his legs hang past the footrest. Took them over six months to get my son lateral supports for his wc. The supports push/dig (not support) into my kids rib cage. When we open the support, the metal hinge pushes into his ribcage. The seat is narrower at the top and my son has a wide chest. He’s only 125lbs but this can still cause pressure wounds. They should have replaced the seat with something to fit his new status. Nope. Then when the supports arrived at their company (they were there weeks prior but never notified us-shipping records don’t lie like the company does) they wanted to schedule an appointment to install them! Mail them!! Do not use this company or depend on help from Christopher Kreitzer, you won’t get it. They do not care about your children or their well being.

The service rep that I have in the Harrisburg area is one of the best reps ever… very compassionate and understanding and works with your needs. He is awesome and I would recommend him to anyone as a sales rep for anything you need medically especially a power chair or a manual chair. National Seating Mobiliy in The Harrisburg area is awesome, even just making the phone calls to the office in itself is awesome ..
but I give it a five star because of the sales rep that I deal with. And you has been working with me for a very long time. All the reps are awesome, and they fix your chair properly and they get it back to you in a timely fashion, there’s no playing games for sure with NSM in Harrisburg area
Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
