  I ordered a prescription refill on Monday with a fill date on Wednesday. Today, Thursday, I arrive in the afternoon to pick up my prescription. I find out that it is not ready. While voicing my displeasure, I was informed not to follow the automated fill date and time that was given to me over the phone. A pharmacy associate uttered the ‘f’ word and calm down to me upon asking for their district manager’s contact information. Extremely unprofessional. When speaking to the pharmacy manager he voiced his struggle with finding good help. Have the right people, not many people and prioritize communication. I spoke with one of the store managers who was a great listener. Hopefully the situation is addressed appropriately. Side note - apparently the pharmacy are unable to contact customers if their prescription can not be filled within the timeframe provided by the automated telephone prompt. If this is the case, this is exactly the kind of information that needs to be escalated internally (I.e. conference calls , emails) or, at the very least, add a disclosure to call the pharmacy to verify completion prior to arrival. I could only imagine the back log that would exist if pick up today orders were not filled at their designated time. A different system but a comparable situation.
