  PLEASE READ THIS FIRST IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING USING THIS PHARMACY. I am a retired woman on Medicare, moved here 18 months ago. Thus far I have been impressed at the sincere friendliness I have experienced from most residents. At first I was VERY glad to know that there was a private local pharmacy in Gettysburg in addition to the usual big chains, especially now as there is an FDA-verified national shortage of an affordable generic version of a costly name-brand drug SOLELY for menopausal women that I rely on. I optimistically walked in January 7 in great hopes of finding it. Note I am a retired healthcare professional, and I am aware of the importance of presenting oneself in public courteously and professionally. A mature female clerk immediately stepped out , and clearly was concerned and wanted to help. She took the details I offered and moved over to the computer to research whether this drug might be available there for me. Out of nowhere another mature woman about the same age stepped next to her. I smiled at her as well thinking I hit the jackpot - two caring ladies instead of one! Sadly I was VERY wrong. When I started to happily share with this second woman about the extreme difficulty I had so far encountered at all other local pharmacies finding this drug she coldly looked at me, harshly said to be quiet, gesturing with her hand as if she was a high school teacher and I was a juvenile delinquent. I was taken aback - but thought I may have misinterpreted her demeanor. Perhaps she meant this in a cordial way, as she was overseeing the all-important search for me that her assistant had started. I paused, but then politely said I DO need to share some details as I did not want to pay more than was the high price at one of the local chain pharmacies that WAS able to obtain a small quantity of this drug. At this point she absolutely became EXTREMELY unprofessional and again bluntly yelled "I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT IT". Again I paused, gathering my composure... She then stepped over to her workspace - clearly she was a pharmacist - and I gently said to her, "At times when there is an injustice it is only right to speak up" (I meant the shortage of this AFFORDABLE version of a menopausal medication IS an injustice to menopausal women). She AGAIN said "I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR COMPLAINTS". I was amazed at her shocking behavior. At this point I said, "You are RUDE". She replied, "Well I think YOU are rude ". I truly felt ill by then. I looked at the other female clerk and said thank you for trying to help me, and I feel sorry for you to have to work here. The belligerent pharmacist then boasted "She has worked here 20 years, so she must be happy here. I own this place" to which I replied I am glad I have no intention of ever coming here again. I then left. Honestly whoever this pharmacist is, she is a disgrace to this town and absolutely does NOT represent the spirit of the people of Gettysburg.

  Laslows Pharmacy is the absolute best I ever been in, the family base employees is what makes this place amazing, they greet you by name, and NOT just another person, collecting a prescription. they offer the best service, when asking any questions you may have,😁
