About

Podiatrist
Lake Erie Podiatry is a small, private practice singularly focused on providing personalized patient care. Being an independent, more intimate practice allows us to treat each patient as an individual, and not just a number—which can happen sometimes in more high-volume practices. We treat a variety of foot and ankle conditions both conservatively as well as through surgical intervention when absolutely necessary. Along with handling ingrown and fungal nails, we see many patients for soft tissue problems, heel pain, warts, bunions, hammertoes, sports injuries, diabetic foot ulcers, and more.

Frequently Asked Questions About Lake Erie Podiatry

What are some of the most common foot pain causes?

Foot can occur for a variety of reasons, ranging from injury or overuse to diseases and conditions that affect the feet. Foot pain may also be caused by wearing ill-fitting shoes, or by spending long periods of time on your feet without proper support or rest. In some cases, foot pain may be a symptom of an underlying condition or disease, such as diabetes or peripheral artery disease.

Do you have any sore feet treatment tips for the short term?

While it’s important to schedule an appointment with a podiatrist to get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan for any foot pain concerns, there are simple lifestyle changes you can make in the meantime that may help. These include avoiding high heels or shoes that don’t fit properly; wearing supportive, well-cushioned footwear; stretching your feet regularly; and icing sore areas with cold compresses. Additionally, taking over-the-counter medications such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen can help offer short-term treatment for foot swelling and pain. If the pain persists after a couple of weeks, schedule an appointment with a podiatrist to discuss further treatment options.
