Club Pilates Upper Dublin is a boutique Pilates studio specializing in reformer fusion classes for anyone, at any age or fitness level. Pure to Joseph Pilates’ original Reformer-based Contrology Method, but modernized with group practice and expanded state-of-the-art equipment, Club Pilates offers high-quality, life-changing training at a surprisingly affordable price.
I did a 1.5 level class here recently having done reformer classes at a different location every once in awhile in the past and the level of rudeness was unbelievable. It seemed before I even got on the reformer the instructor was mad that I didn’t know where they kept the weights and then because I forgot to bring grip socks even though they were able to provide me with a pair to borrow (as they should since they certainly charge enough money). As soon as I got on the reformer she began for the first but certainly not last time to harrass me about whether or not I had ever done one of these classes before and about how “this is a 1.5 but actually even more 1.5 to get ready for level 2”. I don’t run their website, I don’t get a say in who can sign up for which level, I simply went on the site and signed for a class that THEIR COMPANY allows ANYONE to sign up for with no pre requisites. Level 2 you need permission, not level 1.5. Nonetheless, this instructor brought up that this was a 1.5 and continued to ask if I have taken the class every 3 minutes on the dot like an egg timer. She got frustrated any time I didn’t instantly know how to do something. Meanwhile, there was at least 1 other person in the class who was doing a far worse job than me. Someone who I don’t wanna insult publicly, but, they were clearly out of shape and unable to do most of the movements. This did not bother the instructor one bit. She said absolutely nothing rude or even fairly critical towards this other person the entire class. Just me. So I have to ask the owner of this studio, what kind of business strategy is this? You started a new Pilates business where you charge an arm and a leg for a single class that *YOUR COMPANY* allows anyone to sign up for and then you have instructors insulting the person paying them/ the new business the entire class. Hmm. Maybe rethink this and make it so that customers actually wanna come back.

Club Pilates in Dresher has been a wonderful experience. I had taken many mat Pilates classes many years ago but never on a reformer or in a club experience such as this. At this point in my life, I was looking for the health benefits with the mind/body connection. The instructors at Dresher have helped me recenter my body and mind to alleviate the pain commonly associated with middle age while keeping things fun and new. Every class brings different exercises and I walk away feeling refreshed and strong. Devon’s playlist is awesome too! :)
