What should I bring for my appointment?

Please be prepared with the following items: Your prescription glasses and/or contact lenses, Prescription medication list, Insurance card, and Identification card.

As you age past 60, you will more than likely develop cataracts. More than 50 percent of people do, and some develop them even younger than that. It is quite normal and very treatable with corrective surgery in one or both eyes, depending on where the cataracts develop.

Everyone is friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. The assistants explained the processes of all the tests that I was given. Dr. Spearman was very thorough at explaining what my options were and took the time to answer all my questions and concerns. Very positive experience.

The office personal were very nice, efficient and professional. Everything was explained in detail regarding the testing and future procedures. I was very pleased with the office visit. The doctor also reviewed everything in detail.

Wish I could say my experience was good, however I was fairly uncomfortable during my last visit. My first visit wasn't bad, and the nurses were friendly as well as the second. My second visit however, I had to wait almost an extra 45 minutes for my appointment doctor because he was so backed up. When I got in, it felt rushed and like they didn't listen to my issues the first time. Im not used to having my eyes touched/worked on. Ive never had glasses or contacts so I've never needed a eye doctor. When they were looking at it, I was constantly told to "relax my eyeballs" like I totally can just do that when getting jabbed by a q tip or whatever they use to fold your eye lid open. Overall I knew it wouldn't be a totally comfortable experience, but this just felt rushed and uncaring and I felt like the doctor was losing his patience even though in the process even though I had to wait a long time for them to see me. Ive also never had a follow up to see how I was doing. I got the bill though!
