Must preface my review by saying the surgeon, Dr. Fishman, has amazing bedside manner. I saw him several years ago when I was first looking into WLS & he spent a long time with me & my mom in my appointment. The TRAGEDY is his office staff is chock full of b*tches. They were very mean to me throughout my time in the program. They have ZERO understanding nor compassion that the decision to undergo weight loss surgery is the hardest one we will ever make. I was told I could NOT return to the program after being uncertain I would get the surgery. Just because they are all 90 lb. waifs who never had a weight problem in their lives is NO excuse for mistreating patients. I am over 400 lbs and my health is seriously jeopardized but instead of allowing me to visit with the surgeon and DISCUSS my fears and concerns, I was told this wasn't an option until three months into my 6 month mandatory time before being allowed to get surgery. I am very upset since I feel the surgery is my only route to getting my health & life back. Had I been given the chance to talk to Dr. F. this time, perhaps I would have felt secure in my decision to undergo bariatric surg. Staff was condescending & chiding me throughout my time of battling between getting it or not. I am not one to leave bad reviews, but I just wish this fabulous surgeon would know what shoddy & incompetent staff he has working for him. They made my time in the program miserable. Not to mention the horrid clunky Grand View app they make you use to track food & communicate with you. I asked if I could track manually since the app is incredibly awful & glitch-filled, but was told it was necessary to use it. Dr. Fishman-- you seem amazing, but PLEASE know how your office staff have no idea how to treat patients with dignity, patience & respect.
