I call Tracy Sokoloski Dr. Sokoloski because she’s done more to help me than any doctor has for my aches and pains and other issues I’ve had. She diagnosed me on my first visit and it was confirmed with the blood test she ordered. She immediately prescribed a medication that literally changed my life. She listens, processes and acts in one visit. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs a rheumatologist. If you’re reading this Doc, thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me!

I had a wonderful appointment with Tracey Sokoloski, CRNP at Ramos Rheumatology. She was very knowledgeable about the subject in which I came to see her on. I appreciated that she listened very intently and allowed me to say what I needed to say, but was able to get me back on track when needed (ADHD brain lol). Tracey asked thorough questions, took my concerns seriously and made me feel heard, seen, and understood. Even though I had seen a different rheumatologist prior and had a work up done then, Tracey wanted to be thorough and ordered a completely new work up and added on many other additional testing that I don’t believe the other rheumatologist even cared or considered to do. Compared to that other rheumatologist, who made me feel brushed off and not cared about, Tracey made me feel so much better and cared for in terms of my diagnosis. I am very much looking forward to continuing my care with her and truly appreciate gaining more knowledge in her area of expertise! Highly recommend her and this practice! Additionally, I wanted to shout out the front desk staff lady. I’m so sorry I do not recall your name, but you were a middle age woman, with long brown hair. Not only were you warm and welcoming, I believe you were training someone new next to you when I arrived either on the whole job or at some specific subject. You seemed to be such an awesome teacher and definitely someone who should be training others! Even though you were having some technical difficulties with your computer, I didn’t mind waiting with you because our conversation was lovely. You were cracking some hilarious jokes and it just made the whole experience even better! Highly, highly recommend this Rheumatologist office! Edit to my review that I just remembered: The only thing that I would change/recommend is that when the nurse brought me to room and was asking the standard questions of why I was being seen, medical history, confirming medications, etc., she did not close the door. I did not think anything in the moment about this, but then she roomed another patient across the hall from me about 5 minutes later as I waited on Tracey to come see me. I was able to hear all of this patient’s history and answers to the same questions the nurse had asked me. Now he was a very loud speaking individual, however, I do believe the door should be shut when these conversations happen for patient comfortability and confidentiality. Due to the fact I was able to still hear the nurse speaking as well too, just not as much as the gentleman. That is the only “change” and recommendation I would have made my entire visit.

I saw Michelle Gauntlet for my first appointment. I was referred to the practice after struggling with declining health including serious issues with my skin, major brain fog, extreme fatigue, weakness and bloodwork results that was ordered by my PCP. My PCP and I both believe I have scleroderma. Michelle left me with a very negative first impression. I see that other patients weren’t pleased with having to disrobe when Dr. Ramos wanted to inspect their skin for rashes. I attempted to show Michelle areas of my skin affected by scleroderma and she basically blew me off and didn’t look at anything. She touched my arm and said that my skin isn’t dry at all but I had already told her that I was rubbing coconut oil into my shin 3-4 times per day in an attempt to fight the scleroderma until I could get the medication needed. She told me that my face looked irritated from picking at it but I explained that I haven’t been picking at it and that it’s not irritation. I told her that Scleroderma causes the red brown and white speckling that is all over my face. She gave me yet another look as if i had just said something completely outrageous. She asked me about my referral was from Riverside Rehabilitation and I told her that is some kind of a mistake or miscommunication because my PCP referred me and she again gave me the look of serious skepticism. It was as if she was doubting or out right not believing everything I told her and she certainly had no interest at all in looking at my skin which is a total mess. She clearly isn’t at all familiar with scleroderma or even common consideration since she dismissed and/or doubted everything I was trying to explain about what I’ve experienced with this condition. I wish my appointment was with Dr. Ramos so that I could get the examination and medication that is needed to manage this serious autoimmune condition. She gave me an order for more blood work and I go back in 4-5 weeks. It took what seemed like forever to finally get in for a first appointment and this condition is really taking a serious toll on me and my family. I was literally counting down the days because I’ve been suffering for quite a long time before and after finally getting referred for a Rheumatology appointment. I was so stunned and disappointed with the way I was treated that I got to my car and sobbed uncontrollably for over an hour. My twin sister has lupus and is a patient at the practice. She sees Tracy the CRNP and she likes her. She is satisfied with the care she receives with Tracy. The front end staff were very professional and courteous. I am hoping my next appointment goes much better and I can actually get on the medication I need. Perhaps it was just not a good day for Michelle and my first experience was not the norm. I certainly hope so. I will update my review after my next appointment. 🤞🙏

Frequently Asked Questions About Ramos Rheumatology, PC

What causes rheumatoid arthritis?

It’s unclear what exactly causes rheumatoid arthritis, although researchers believe that genetics play a big role. As an autoimmune disease, if you have rheumatoid arthritis your immune system attacks and breaks down the lining that protects your joints. This makes the protective lining thicker, which destroys both cartilage and bones that make up your joints. Over time, all the tendons and ligaments that allow your joints to function start weakening. Your joints lose their shape and alignment. Much of the damage is irreversible, although you may slow the progression with regular treatments and therapy sessions.

Can rheumatoid arthritis affect any joint?

Rheumatoid arthritis can affect any joint, though it generally starts in smaller joints like your fingers and toes. As the disease progresses, it attacks tissues in your wrists, knees, elbows, or other larger joints. Rheumatoid arthritis gradually gets worse, although for some people, severe rheumatoid arthritis develops quickly. In rare cases, rheumatoid arthritis goes into remission. Without continuous care and treatment though, your rheumatoid arthritis reoccurs as strong as before.
