Have been coming here for years with no issues. I’m not sure what scheduling issues have been going on, but this visit was unacceptable. For my 4 year old to have a basic cleaning done, we were there for 2 hours. 3pm on a Monday (non holiday). Had to ask receptionist if the apt was soon, she said “your‘e next”. Proceeded to wait an hour to get called into the back, to find no hygienist or dentist working. Didn’t get seen until 4:30 by dental hygienist. Thankfully she was great with my kid, very thorough, and gave her a goodie bag which distracted her until dentist came over. When dentist finally came over, asking the wrong patient next to us by my kids name, if we were next. When all said and done we were told “you did so good you waited so long today” no explanation or apology. People left the back before us that arrived an hour after us. Poor communication and scheduling for a small child to have to wait that long was very frustrating.

We had a 3:30 appointments for both my sons for a routine cleaning. Waited 45 minutes before my first son was called back. At 4:30 when my 2nd son still hadn’t been called from the waiting room I said to cancel his appointment. Front desk receptionist gave zero communication and rolled her eyes when I asked about wait time. After 5 they finally called me back for my first son and when I expressed frustration about how long it took I was told that because it was Lunar New Year and kids were off school so it was busy. (For the record - my kids were not off. I pulled them from school early so we could be there for 3:30) We will NOT be back.

My kids always say the dentist and assistants are really nice to them. I really like the dental team that help with the kids as well. I’m not a fan of the staff at the front desk. I’ve been bring my kids to this office for about 2 years now and have felt the front desk manners have been declining. I can barely get in touch with when call. The wait can easily be 15-20 minutes sometimes longer. They really need to hire a better front desk team.

What causes toothaches?
There are many different factors that can cause tooth discoloration. An abnormally colored tooth is anything other than the yellowish-white to the white color of normal teeth. The factors that contribute to tooth color include congenital conditions, genetics, infections, and environmental factors. Abnormal color and shape may be caused by a malfunction in body processes. Some of these factors can influence the way your child’s enamel is formed, while others simply stain the enamel. Teeth may be uniformly discolored or it may appear as spots or lines in enamel. In addition, discolored areas may have a different density and porosity than normal enamel. The color and hardness of enamel can also be affected by drugs or medications taken by either the child during the time of tooth development or by the mother while pregnant.
At what age should my child stop thumb-sucking?
Thumb sucking is a normal habit for many children. Its peak occurrence is at about age two and it can be an important source of pleasure for an infant or toddler. This habit is usually nothing to worry about since your child will usually outgrow the habit. However, if they continue to suck their thumb past age 4, dental problems such as malocclusion may occur.
