After much back and forth, I’m genuinely disappointed to be writing this review. I really enjoyed the classes and instructors at Club Pilates, but the experience has been overshadowed by poor handling of their cancellation policy and a district manager’s misunderstanding of their own contract. Unfortunately, this has resulted in my needing to dispute a charge with my credit card company. On October 14th, I submitted my 30-day written notice to cancel my membership, as outlined in my contract, after confirming the process with an employee. That employee told me I would still be charged for the full month of November, which didn’t align with my understanding that “30 days” meant exactly that—30 days, not 45 or more. Since the West Linn studio manager was out on extended leave, I requested to speak with the district manager instead. It took nearly two weeks for the district manager, Janelle, to return my call. During our conversation, she insisted that I would be charged the full November membership amount. I asked her to show me where that language appeared in my contract, and she agreed to send it. Later that day, she emailed me a broken link, followed by another message saying she would resend it soon. I never received a functioning copy from her, but I was able to locate my own copy of the contract, which clearly states that cancellation requires 30 days’ notice any time after the initial 3-month commitment. I forwarded the contract to Janelle and reiterated that I did not authorize any charges beyond the 14 days that fell within my 30-day notice window. I again asked her to point out where the contract allowed them to bill me beyond that period. She never responded—and my card was charged the full amount for November. It’s incredibly disappointing that a company would jeopardize a loyal customer relationship over $138, especially after I’ve spent so much with them over time.

On this day of my hundredth class, I want to give a shout out to the awesome instructors at club Pilates West Linn: Lissa taught me how to breathe, Vanessa taught me that Pilates is for everyone, Maicee taught me not to do wonky things with my feet, and Toni taught me how to find an exponential amount of work in the smallest movement. Thanks for the awesome journey ladies, looking forward to my next hundred classes!
