The dentist was great, the specific hygienist I had was great. Everyone else I encountered at this office were the most unprofessional, rude, discriminating people I have ever dealt with. It came to the point where I was unsure if the problem was the fact that I am disabled, or if the problem was they didn't approve of the way I looked.

I have to say, I had one of the best experiences at the gentle dental in Springfield. Everyone was so nice. The experience was great. I was well taken care of and in a timely manner. I look forward to making this my regular dentist.

Genuinely grateful that my insurance covers SOME dental care but man, this place has been a mixed bag. I feel that the front desk has upped their game a lot at the Springfield location with better customer service and kinder staff. They used to require you to confirm your appointment by phone the day before or they would cancel it, but they have a new automated text system that makes it much easier to confirm your appointment. They will cancel if you don’t confirm it but at least they made it easier with text options. The hygienists are kind but the woman that took my x rays didn’t ask me to take my piercings out or use the protective vest to keep you safe from extra exposure and if I would have noticed sooner I would have said something but I didn’t notice till the pictures were done. That’s a huge safety risk. There was a sign that said to take out all piercings that I also saw after the x rays? That’s concerning to say the least. The hygienist that cleans my teeth usually is kind and on top of it but they have some questionable new ones. As for the dentists? I’ve dealt with extreme dismissiveness unless your teeth are rotting out of your head. I have gingivitis and my gums are pretty painful, and have for a while now. Every time I go in they tell me it’s getting worse but no preventative measures besides a standard cleaning are taken. I know they make mouth wash and other products dentists can offer to help especially since my daily cleaning routine is pretty flawless. I’m just frustrated I found that out from my general practitioner instead of my dentist who claims to specialize in preventative care. The dentist has told me numerous times that I have issues with teeth grinding, gum pain and issues with a previous filling but then claims it’s all good? That doesn’t sound good to me. It’s better than no care but man I am tired of them telling me how pretty my teeth are as my gums continue to hurt. Not to mention I’m a tobacco smoker and they’ve done zero screenings for gum cancer despite over a decade of smoking and persistent gum pain. Overall, they lack preventative care procedures, aren’t following proper safety procedures and I’m nervous every time I go in. Bringing someone with you goes a long way to make them take you more seriously but that shouldn’t be necessary for them to do the job they went to school for and you’re paying for. Overall, I don’t recommend them and would switch if I had better coverage.
