- JDJim DriggersFeb 5, 20265.0National Seating and Mobility provided me first class service from beginning to end. I had complications from back surgery that meant I would be spending about a year in a wheelchair. Not a pleasant thought. Angela Smith contacted me when I was in the hospital to arrange for my custom built chair. It took about 6 weeks for it to be delivered and it was exactly as promised -- down to the chrome blue finish. Andy Jones was a great representative of the company when he brought the chair to my house, explaining all the features and helping me get used to it. When you spend a great deal of time in a chair, it is important to be comfortable -- and because my chair was measured specifically for me, it fits my body perfectly. Having a disability is a stressful experience. Thanks to everyone at National Seating and Mobility for helping to reduce my anxiety and for providing me with a superior product.
- LWLucinda WedgeDec 19, 20255.0Angela Smith, ATP, CRTS was the rep we had and she helped make calls and put everything together for my daughter to receive the absolute best wheelchair she has had in all the 34 years that she has been using a wheelchair. She made every measurement so precise to fit her so perfectly. The removeable cushion is air bladders inside. It will prevent her from getting sores. She thought of everything. She listened to all my daughters complaints from over these many years. She gave us all the time required, we never felt rushed. I can't say enough good things about her professional demeanor, her gentleness with my daughter, her caring to see to it that she does the absolute best she could do to make life more comfortable for her. She's an A+ in our household. I highly recommend this company and this representative. Thank you, National Seating and Mobility and thank you Angela.

At 310 she called and spoke to the lady in the office to see why they were late. She said she would call the tech, and then call my sister right back. She didn't call. Now over an hour has passed. Still no text and no one answers at the office. Thanks for nothing. She had errands to run before the holidays and it's nearly impossible without her scooter. Do better!

Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
