At NSM, we build one-of-a-kind mobility solutions designed to be comfortable, safe and work completely in sync with each client. Our focus is to deliver independence and self-reliance to clients, regardless of age or physical challenge; to offer reassurance to families and caregivers; and to provide flexible, highly professional clinical support to physicians and therapists.
Angela Smith, ATP, CRTS was the rep we had and she helped make calls and put everything together for my daughter to receive the absolute best wheelchair she has had in all the 34 years that she has been using a wheelchair. She made every measurement so precise to fit her so perfectly. The removeable cushion is air bladders inside. It will prevent her from getting sores.
She thought of everything. She listened to all my daughters complaints from over these many years. She gave us all the time required, we never felt rushed. I can't say enough good things about her professional demeanor, her gentleness with my daughter, her caring to see to it that she does the absolute best she could do to make life more comfortable for her. She's an A+ in our household. I highly recommend this company and this representative. Thank you, National Seating and Mobility and thank you Angela.

Very disappointed. My DISABLED sister has no working scooter. Someone was supposed to be here at 3pm to fix it. At 310 she called and spoke to the lady in the office to see why they were late. She said she would call the tech, and then call my sister right back. She didn't call. Now over an hour has passed. Still no text and no one answers at the office. Thanks for nothing. She had errands to run before the holidays and it's nearly impossible without her scooter. Do better!

Currently working with National Seating &Mobility. My fiancee just got his customized power chair in july after waiting since april for it to be built. The loaner had a perfect set up but was uncomfortable due to many factors. The Controls were within his reach on the loaner. When his chair was delivered it was a quick adjustment but before she left angela forgot to see if he could operate the chair. Needless to say we discovered after she left that he could not comfortably use the joystick, we immediately reached out to Angela and almost two weeks after delivery she came out and made adjustments said she has the needed parts at the shop, then while leaving states she will talk with collegues to get ideas on how to fix the issue ( the joystick needs a shorter mount that brings it closer to the arm rest) and leaves. Now two weeks later and we havent heard anything. My fiancee is unable to use his chair other than sitting he cant use it to go to appointments, go outside, go shopping with me, etc. he is getting extremely frustrated with the situation and being stuck in the house in bed or in the recliner he wants to get out and do things.

Frequently Asked Questions About National Seating & Mobility
What makes NSM the preferred choice for obtaining mobility solutions?
At NSM, we are uniquely positioned to search hundreds of sources for the precise components needed to create a chair that is made specifically to meet the needs of each client. Each chair can be designed for maximum comfort and ease and will provide the specific therapeutic benefits prescribed for you by the health care team. But what really sets NSM apart is our approach. We work from the heart, honoring your journey of independence with efficient, friendly attention that puts your interests first. This is our life’s work—to help others move through life—and we take it very seriously.
How can I work with NSM for my mobility needs?
National Seating & Mobility is a member of your rehabilitation health care team. We work with your physician, nurses and therapists to provide a one-of-a-kind mobility solution customized to your needs and preferences. Because we work in a partnership with your health care team, we require a referral from them in order to be your mobility provider. To help ensure your choice of NSM, you should request that your physician and/or therapist select us as your provider of choice.
How long does it take to get a new power wheelchair from NSM?
NSM strives to complete each timeline phase as quickly as possible without compromising any step in the process. Please refer to this page for the full timeline. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
Why must I see a doctor to get a wheelchair from NSM?
Our clients have mobility challenges and are referred to us by therapists and physicians to receive mobility solutions that meets all their unique needs. If you need a wheelchair, your best plan is to talk with your physician or therapist and get a thorough evaluation from a qualified Rehab Technology Supplier (RTS).
What if my medical condition changes?
Contact your local NSM branch and notify us of any changes that may affect the proper fit and function of your chair.
Are there any dangers in using an off-the-shelf wheelchair?
Definitely. A standard or not customized chair can cause more harm than good. People come in all shapes and sizes; their chairs must be designed to fit them. In severe situations, a standard or not customized chair may:
- Cause significant physiological and psychological problems
- Lead to an increase in dependence because it’s not used due to lack of comfort
- Cause pressure sores, or decubitus, due to improper cushioning
- Become obsolete quickly if not configured to “grow with the child”
- Become a major expense to replace or reconfigure, because most funding sources will only reimburse for a new chair every five years.
Do I have a choice of which mobility solutions company to use?
The choice of a wheeled mobility supplier is yours. Discuss your decision with your physician and therapist.
