Miserable experience at Hawthorne Blvd. Safeway Portland OR pharmacy where you are just a number and a potential source of profit.I paid $230 for flu and COVID-19 vaccines even though according to Medicare and my Medigap Insurance plan customer service people these services should have been completely covered by my insurance plans. I also checked with my US House of Representative’s office folks and they said the vaccines should have been completely covered by Medicare.
When I tried to talk to the pharmacist about the charges he rudely and curtly dismissed me. Strangely, another family member with the exact same insurance coverage that I have was not charged a cent for the 2 vaccines I had to pay for.
I switched to a locally owned pharmacy and am so glad I did.

I call just to see if this pharmacy has the meds that my usual pharmacy is currently out of. they tell me I need a script because it's a controlled substance and they can't transfer my information over from a different subway pharm. that's fine. I dumbly assume that the fact that they're asking for a script means they have the meds in stock, so I get my doctor to send another script out. I call literal hours later and the same person answers and then they tell me (after going through the same verification process and looking up my script) they're out. I swear Safeway tortures their pharm techs or something because this stuff ceases to surprise me anymore. i had used my mouth and vocal cords to clearly explain from the very first phone call that I was calling because my usual pharmacy was out of stock. why would I got through the trouble of having another script filled for a different pharmacy that's ALSO out of the meds I need to function.

Why is reviewing my Medicare plan every year important?
Reviewing your Medicare plan every year is important because Medicare Advantage (Part C) and Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (Part D) can change annually. These changes may affect your coverage, out-of-pocket costs, and provider network. By reviewing your plan during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, you can ensure it still meets your healthcare needs and budget—and switch plans if necessary.
