The service at this pharmacy is abominable. While you are there, you will notice that the phone rings at length with no one bothering to pick up customer calls. If you yourself have to call this pharmacy, again no one picks up your call, and the mailbox is consistently full so you cannot leave a message. Save yourself the headache and go to Walgreens or another neighborhood pharmacy for your medication needs, particularly if your situation is remotely urgent.

I think this place is fantastic. Very consistent with fast, kind service. I've had some sensitive things come up and some issues with insurance/cost and they've always done their best to problem solve.

How is this pharmacy so bad? If the computers aren’t down, it’s understaffed. It feels less like a pharmacy and more like an extension of the supermarket. It’s clearly underfunded. I’m surprised it’s legal to manage a pharmacy like this, considering it’s dealing with pharmaceuticals.

Avoid at all costs if you have a mental or physical health condition that requires daily medication and timely refills. Every time I have come in to get my daily medications for the past 6+ months, my as-needed medications are ready but the actual one I need refilled has not been ready one single time.
I have not been able to get the online Safeway pharmacy app to work on my phone to check the status of my medications. The pharmacy staff said they couldn't help me with that. Fine, not really their job. But because of this, I got into the habit of calling before picking up my medication because it so frequently was not ready when I came to pick it up. They pretty much ignore all phone calls unless you call like 10 times in a row. I asked the guy at the pharmacy about this one day when I was picking up meds, and he just shrugged and said, "For every ten calls, maybe we pick up one."
My doctor sends in my prescriptions and the pharmacy seems to just literally ignore them? A few times they said the prescription had been put on hold and they didn't know why, a few times they said they just didn't know why it hadn't been filled... Then today, I came in to get my daily medication that my doctor sent in for a refill days ago. I gave them extra time to fill it because I know they tend to be slow. The woman checking me out shrugged and said it was out of stock. So no one bothered to call or notify me in any way that my daily medication that is due for a refill is just not available? When they saw I was upset, suddenly they realized it was in stock (apparently they don't stay on top of that) and they had someone emergency fill it for me. The staff looked at me like I was insane when I asked for the name of the pharmacy manager after this, literally the fifth+ time in a row they've just decided not to fill the medically necessary meds that my doctor has sent in without notifying me.
EDIT: Responding to my review by referring me to your “Contact Us” page is wild. Is anyone actually checking that? Hard to believe, considering you guys don’t even bother to staff the pharmacy enough to answer your phones for regular customer inquiries.

My family’s experience here has been consistent with most of the other reviews here. They *do not* pick up the phone. At all.
So you have to go there in person where they will tell you “we never got the prescription from your doctor”.
So then you call your doctor, who confirms that yes, they did send it and furthermore that they got confirmation that the Safeway pharmacy did in fact receive it and they just blew you off before.
Then you go back and they’re like “ooohhhh yeah, here it is!”, only *it was there the whole time* and they think you’re too stupid to realize it, but in fact this is the third time they’ve done this routine to you. Literally every time. It’s insane.
This place is consistently so much worse than literally every other Safeway pharmacy I’ve ever been to. It’s embarrassing how badly this place is managed. I would certainly be embarrassed to say that I managed this place. And no one cares! Safeway certainly doesn’t, or else they would have top to bottom fired and re-staffed the place by now.
I do not recommend this pharmacy.
